Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Searching for a trade...Please leave comments.

Pie in the sky....it works with the cap for all three teams, but give your opinion how it would/could effect all teams involved and feasibility for each. Why would or wouldnt each team consider this.

The Kings would have to cut at least two, likely three players.

I'm not sure the Knicks would drop Curry and Lee, even for Artest.

I have no clue why Seattle would do this? Is Curry-Wilcox an acceptable front line? I think they value their impending cap space.

Re: Searching for a trade...Please leave comments.
My sources tell me that Seattle/OKC Sonics are looking for a hydra of their own....Wilcox-Curry-Collison-Swift-Sene.  Seriously Curry is the only "proven" center of the bunch.  Swift may never be the same after the knee injury, and although I really like his play-Collison is really just a role player and Sene at this point is still just a high draft pick project player. Bibby and Q-Rich could spread the floor for Durant and Nate the Great gets to come home.  Potential cap space may be their plan TZ, but who is going to want to go there when ownership and the city are still sparring as to where the Sonics will call home?  Pookie being from the Emerald City may, just may have an opinion on this.....

I don't see this happening.
(A) Why would the Kings do this?  If NYK is willing to give up Lee & Ending Deals for Artest, then don't you think that GP would have already closed that deal?  If they're NOT willing to give up Lee, then I don't see how "sweetening" (and I mean that in the most sarcastic way possible) the pot with K9 and Wally Z would help.

(B) If the Knicks won't trade Lee in a deal for Artest, then why would they trade Lee, Curry & Robinson for Artest & Wally Z (I removed the cap filler)?

(C) Cap space was exactly the reason they traded Allen and let Lewis go, so the Sonics ownership wouldn't be taking on ANY of this extra contract obligation.  One of the things that they're doing to assist in moving the franchise is alienating the current fan base.  If the team starts winning, then they could get their publicly funded arena and have to stay (which they don't want any more, because they're trying to move the team).  For an admittedly TERRIBLE reference think: Major League, but less funny.

Re: I don't see this happening.
Thanks, smgmatt. I now have this vision of the Sonics peeling a section of clothing off of the Clay Bennett cardboard cutout every time they win a game.

Whatever floats your boat, I suppose
If that doesn't swing the pendulum of success, then I don't know what to tell you.

Re: I don't see this happening.
Good points smgmatt!

(A) What I was thinking was more cap space sooner...I think.  I did not include any draft day considerations as I am not sure how to apply them. As to why GP would not include the Poodle, it doesnt hurt to ask besides -  When did any trade that Isiah was involved with make sense for the Knicks?

(B) See (A)

C) I did not consider the basketball theatrical version called  Field of Durham, "if you lose games they wont come" scenario...

Umm bro
While I have no desire to move back to the River City anytime soon, I am also still a native of the evil cowtown. I'm just merely one of several million transplants here now.

That being said
I have no real idea what the Sonics should be doing. As far as their own hydra is concerned I'm not sure that would help them in any way shape or form. They already have difficulties rebounding; surely you don't think Curry will help that in department. As far as Richardson goes he has NO value anymore. New York could trade him for pennies on the dollar and be happy. Or cut him and be happy with it. I think cutting him is the most likely option at this point. With Q probably having to sign several vet minimum's until teams come to grips that he can score like he did in his Clipper/Brief Sun days.

Dear Douche:

If you're from an evil cowtown you dislike, don't come back and talk shit, son. You didn't cut it, move on.
