So...
This is what a team looks like when 80% of your projected opening night lineup is out. And I'm a SF Giants fan, so the coming spring will yield little as well.

OH CRUEL FATE!!! WHY DO YOU MOCK ME???

When was it 80%
I thought it was only Martin and Artest that were out... That only accounts for 40%.

Beno- check
Martin replaces Salmons
Artest replaces Garcia
Moore- check
Miller- check

I said projected opening night lineup
Miller played last night
'Reef = 20%
Artest = 20%
Bibby = 20%
Martin = 20%
Total  = 80%

Udrih was not with the team at the beginning of the season and Moore was projected as the 1st guy off the bench up front.

Math class is dismissed.

That was a Bibby Slam
Shareef doesn't deserve to be starting even if healthy. He couldn't do it for Musselman nor Adelman because he has the same flaws as Kenny Thomas: They don't grab rebounds and they're soft. Yes I still slightly prefer Shareef but he ain't better.

I can't wait for the day Mike Bibby is shipped off to another city.

That was meant to be a hard slam on Mike Bibby.

Bibby
I think my Bibby bashing has gone a bit too far. Let's make one thing clear: I don't hate the guy, he's a very solid player and got absolutely robbed in the All-Star balloting in '04, '05 and maybe '06. I realize Bibby had a rough last year and when his shot is on, man, it's a joy to watch.

However this doesn't change my position that there are other teams that could use Bibby more than us. I'm not saying let's go make other teams happy and do a trade for the sake of doing a trade cuz that's just asinine. However I still feel we're a big man away from becoming a legit playoff contender. Someone who could rebound the ball for us, give us strength inside. The current hydras certainly couldn't provide any of that to us.

Kevin Martin
I was at the game last night.  I was also at the game on Wednesday.  It was great, I have never seen a game at Arco, and this week I got to see two.  (I don't live here anymore, I am visiting for the Holidays)  Wednesday's game was a lot of fun.  I knew we would lose, so I expected it.  For most of the game, the team played hard, and Artest brought it all out.  Last night was a different story.  Besides Beno and Garcia (who couldn't get most of his shots to fall, but was exciting to see), the team just seemed to have a different attitude, the didn't play with any urgency in the last quarter.  This is the team that I remember from the last two years, the team that I would like to forget.

Anyway, before the game I went down to the court and Keven Martin was signing autographs.  As he signed my ticket stub I asked him (in the 15 seconds he was there) how he was feeling. He said he was feeling really good, and I told him not to rush things because he is the future of our team.  He smiled, said thank you, and said he wouldn't.  We all want him back so bad, but at the same time, we don't want to risk things.

I wanted to ask Justin Williams two things, but he didn't make it down to where I was.  1) why Reggie Theus doesn't realize his rebounding can help this team, and 2) when his 3-Wil video would be released to the public.

It looks like after our great road trip, we will end up with a 0-4 home stand.  Kings fans deserve better than this.

Nice Game Recap TZ
I thought actually it says alot about what went wrong in the Philly game. You didn't have any of your non primary scorers step up to have big games besides Beno, and the team was just awful offensively in the 4th qtr. I don't know that Kevin wouldn't have remedied that completely but he couldn't have hurt the team to that kind of extent either.

Here's an idea
Start Salmons at the 3.
Instead of Cisco at the 2, we start a life size cardboard cutout of Kevin Martin. Best case scenario: the cutout draws the double team to leave a scorer open. Worst case: the cutout shoots the same percentage as Cisco, but it'll at least draw a few charges.
