Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI

Coach Eric Musselman is out for the next two games following his no contest plea on DUI charges.

Scott Brooks will take the helm against Denver and New Orleans.

This is what we all expected. I'm sure some talking heads on TNT and ESPN will connect this to his tenuous position as coach of the Kings. I wouldn't put a grain of salt in that commentary. Geoff Petrie and the Maloofs knew this day was coming since October. Nothing about this development changes anything.

If the Kings rattle off two big wins, though...

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
I think the next two home games the Kings can and will win. They've shown they can win a close one in Minneapolis, so why not against Denver and New Orleans at home, no less.

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
I think that is the first time that newspaper (my left hook for TZ) has written about the DUI without showing the mug shot.

I think we can win too. Especially on Saturday where Denver has not clicked with Melo back and AI may not play. I'm psyched to see Scott's game.

I duon't know... with Melo left off the allstar team, he may have something to prove to the world. A pissed off Puerto Rican is not somebody to mess with.

This just in.....
Musselman "suspension" elongated to 2 1/2 years. Unfortunately only the first two without pay. This guys got to go now! I'm sure this is just wishful thinking, but a guys gotta have a dream.
We are slipping into the NBA abyss.

Re: This just in.....
That's not a dream, that's a nightmare. What reason do you cite for dumping a first year coach, a few months in while the team still has a chance at a playoff spot? Don't panic, and don't blame the coach for everything. Unless you can back your plea with logical reasons, (which I am open to consider, I may learn something) I encourage you to have faith. Get off of that ledge!!

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
Musselman would look bad if we win these two in convincing fashion (with defense)

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
I'm tired of people ripping on Musselman for the season the Kings are having.  the is orking his tail off but these primaddonna players are too selfish to commit to his system.  adelman had the same record this time last year and the only reason they improved was artest decided not to be selfish joining the team midseason.  Musselman is not perfect but it's the players who are shooting below 40 %
trade em all

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
I think he is a hard worker I just don't think he knows what he is doing at all. Sacramento media hasn't reported issues with him but other media outlets have stated that Bibby and Artest have no respect for him; that Artest decides when he he is going to come into and out of games; that Brad Miller thinks he doesn't know how to make any adjustments at all. In his short stint as head coach he has got a DUI, got caught in a lie in the media (allegedly), gone 6-14 in games decided by 5 points or fewer, received a two game suspension and oh wait coached a team to a 18-26 record.

You have any linkies to back up these allegations?

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
Still searching for archives links. I read prosportsdaily.com and hoopshype.com. Both compile sports pages from all over the country and separate them using team names as key words. All three article were in Dec. If I can find the articles I will post them. The Sac Bee has proven to be a very poor source of honest kings information, not that the other sources are always honest either.

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
I have no reason not to believe you, but the two sites you say you frequent are not known as bastions of journalistic integrity.

And as long as Aileen Voison writes for the Bee, you can count on "honest kings information", and by that I assume you mean "negative"?

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
Negative, non-fluff pieces, truth about internal strife. It's sad when you are dreaming of the RE Graswich days. I feel like we have moved to Las Vegas and entered into the Maloofs own little dream world. Only good press even when our team blows, guys like Mike Lamb on the radio to make us fall asleep on our way home until he does one of his ridiculous fake laughs to wake us up. The articles I have read have been from newspapers around the country, not blogs.

Re: Musselman Suspended Two Games for DUI
Very good...I will wait for the links cause I'm really interested to see who's producing these "stories" and what their credentials look like.

Have we been reading the same Sacramento Bee? Things are far from fluffy there. No doubt about KHTK, although the Rise Guys are pretty negative on the team and the coaching.  Grant and Mike Lamb are total apologistas, I'll agree with you on that...
