Roy Hibbert
Is expected to return to school. Can we please trade for the celtics pick and get Yi or something? Chad Ford's mock draft has us taking Julian Wright, a nice, versatile player who I like a lot, but do we seriously need another swingman? I'll take a chinese dirk any day over having our 4 most useful players at the 2 and 3.
I trust Petrie, but I just don't know how much he can do in that ten spot. Maybe offer Bibby, the #10 and possibly Garcia/Douby for Theo Ratliff and the 5? I don't know what other options we have...

Re: Roy Hibbert
corliss williamson, solid career
peja, all star (then we found out he was a sissy) and now he can't stay healthy. but was good for a 5-7 year span
anthony johnson, solid backup point guard
hedo, solid career and a guy i would not mind coming back to play here
gerald wallace, career last year and continues to improve
darius songaila, solid player and when healthy can produce
kevin martin, career year, this year will be the telling year for him. has he dedicated himself to continue to get better and become that all-star, consistent player.
garcia, solid player. this is also a crucial off season for him. later in the year he showed he belongs and can play. will he take the next step? not necessarily as an all-star, but consistent play.
the point here is petrie can draft. his other moves may be suspect. the fact that he pulled off two outstanding trades (first to get webber, the second to get rid of him, by get rid of him, i mean his contract, lets face it, his time was up here) gives him some room in my book. last year was abnormal for him, since the maloofs thought they were mark cuban or jerry jones and thought they knew basketball (what's with the water in dallas?).

Re: Roy Hibbert
I think Geoff likes him a lot, and Muss was indifferent to his presence.

Re: Roy Hibbert
Don't compare the early dynamic years of this decade to a retooling/rebuilding year(s) and expect the analogy to work. That's really where im going with this. Are you honestly going to tell me Hedo Turkoglu is better than John Salmons to the point because of the kings had a better record when Hedo played here? I mean cmon man let's get serious here. 1 problem is the team doesn't have that franchise player. Another is that you dont have a damn good helluva goofy knockoff handbag sellin C around either. Let's not compare teams winning 50 games at 1 point to a team in the down year. It's really kinda pointless in a way. Yes the kings had better bench players in yesteryear. But they had alot better starters too. That makes your bench better also.

Re: Roy Hibbert
as for hedo v. salmons, as much as i like salmons, hedo is a far superior player. hedo is taller, just as quick and has more offensive skills. he has a better jump shot and will take the ball to the rim just as hard as salmons. don't get me wrong, i like salmons. i would rather have hedo. john plays much better defense, but this team isn't stopping anyone anyway so why not have more of an offensive minded player.

Re: Roy Hibbert
My point about Ronnie is that he has served his purpose (I hate saying that and I hope realistically he stays in the league). Doesn't mean though he should remain on the team because he's a good backup. That's really all my point was. I think the kings can get backup's to fill that spot very easily. Over the course of time from the early part of this decade until about oh 2005 it stopped. Well with all due respect I don't think it was all about Geoff last year. I really want to know who's idea it was to sign Maurice Taylor. If it was geoff's he deserve's a dorkstamp for a day on his forehead.
Ok as far as Hedo what offensive skills are you referring to? The 3 ball of his that rarely goes in? The excellent ball handling that means you have to have 4 other scorers on the court with him at all times? I like hedo too and I think it's a virtual draw between Salmons/Turkoglu's skills. Salmons though is slighty more athletic and can be used multiple ways that I'm not sure unless you have the right players around Hedo you can do the same thing. This is a semantic debate I'm more than willing to have. But that's all this really is. And ultimately both are role players who bring different things to the table. Are you honestly sure that Hedo is better in Orlando than Salmons was here in Sac? Because in all honestly, nba, I hope that is your implication.

This is just funny to me
site has Kevin Durant than Greg Oden. I don't know much but if Durant is less athletic than Oden maybe he isn't that freak of nature everyone says he is. Just a hunch i'm thinking.
