About the sonics coaching search
Several league sources believe many of the so-called top coaching candidates, including Brown, Carlisle and Adelman, will wait until after the May 22 draft lottery before making decisions.

Ive said before this greatly affects making personnel moves (TZ points out in today's post, moves aren't usually made until right before the draft anyway)but this also is probably affecting the coaching carroseul. I dont imagine any of those names are coming here to sac but it will make a job like sac more attractive for a variety of reasons.

For those who think the draft process is just about showing skills.

Seems 1989 might be bad for the nba on 2 fronts.

Re: Daily Link Dump - May 9
City Councilman Robbie Waters said at Tuesday's council meeting that he's often asked if the city made money on the Kings loan.
"No sir, the city broke even," Friery answered.

Not that anybody cares but I was there when that meeting happened in 1997. Which is why I feel the loan has to be resolved sooner or later.

Arco was supposedly worse in 1999 than it was in 2002. Imagine that.

LOL at the Nellie link. Perfect Nellie to challenge the league and it's idea that 'perception rules'. Btw it's the single worst coaching secret ever that he drinks. Why is it suddenly a shock that he does it on TV?

Thanks for the links Louis. I enjoyed them. Except idylethoughts. That guy is an idiot.

Interesting points made on Kurt Thomas. I find it interesting that D'Antoni is considered a top level coach yet he continued to go with Diaw who was struggling. Yet when ,Thomas whose natural skills fit perfectly in trying to attack San Antonio, it means that the Suns are a bad matchup? Isn't D'Antoni along with Avery Johnson have to be considered 1 of the more overrated coaches?

Another KD classic. I agree with 1 thing though. On the dallas-GSW series alot of folks have said they have to blow the thing up. However, blowing it up because of a single bad matchup seems a tad too jumping the gunning it. Also moving Jason Terry doesn't seem to be any real way to go about doing that constructively.

Don't agree with alot of things that are said. Except for the craptors situation.

D'Antoni, like many who expressed only mild surprise at Golden State's domination of the Mavs, recognizes the similarity, appreciates it and fears it. "As a fan, I love watching Golden State play," says D'Antoni. "Whether I want to play against them is another matter."

I'm sorry but what does it matter what he WANTS in the playoffs? It's about beating the opponent in front of you any way possible. What you want doesn't have anything to do with it. The attitude of 'we take all comers' seems arrogant. On the other hand that's EXACTLY what the playoffs is. If you want to win a ring.

I'm not saying that Baron isn't capable of outplaying Williams. If Baron is right and focused, he can be as good as he wants to be. Obviously he hasn't been the most disciplined guy in the world, but when he's focused in short stretches he has the ability to be a dominant player -- and he has to be dominant for them to win the series. I'd say it's more important for Baron to outplay Deron than vice versa: For the Warriors to win, Baron has to unequivocally outplay Deron.

I think the point is that Baron had to play great for the dubs to beat Dallas. When you consider what Dallas had working against it, it doesn't seem to me the 'greatest' upset ever. Some decent stuff on the style's of nellie vs sloan.
