Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
I've got no real objections to any of the possible assistants proposed as a head coach for the Sacramento Kings....
I liked how Scott Brooks handled the team during the summer league & while the Muss was DOA(oopsie...I meant DUI)...I like Reggie Theus, too(but I'd rather he'd practice being an head coach somewhere else after the leap from college; it's not as if the NBA is the College game; nor is New Mexico State UCLA, but never mind....)
No objections to Bill Laimbeer either(oh wait?...no one mentioning him?Oh yeah...that's right, he "only" coaches gurls; despite his ring.Still;he needs to practice being a head coach somewhere else too...like Theus. I've got nothing against these guys; it's just that..... I want more, dammit.
I want the bad mojo erased from the end of last season. The remedy(partial) for what should've never happened in the first place. An action that would build trust over the head of whichever next head coach Petrie favors...a sort of supervisory "head sage" that will build confidence in the future between the players, the fan base & our general manager.
The remedy for the bad juju is...the 2nd coming of Pete Carrill. The return of coachie. The yoda of Sactown. The guru of crazy cowpoke passion. The one who started the development of our players into what they are today;& the one that has had a hand in producing a lot of coaching talent as well, like Terry Porter. In fact, I dreamed of a 2-fer one deal last night with both of them coming to Sactown; complete with a welcoming commitee at the airport from Sactown Royalty....
(It could happen, right? We just need to scream loud enough).

Re: Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
however...that resulting option is up to coachie isn't it & not you?
& you seem to be in the minority opinion in terms of the polling as well.
If coachie wants to stay retired, that's fine...then bring in the second coming of Larry brown....he has a legacy that's rather tarnished after that crap that was the Knicks.

Re: Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
On Larry Brown his legacy isn't tarnished. It's the perfect ending for him. Reading my
Ron-Ron carnival might give an appreciate for my true approval of Larry.
Re: Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
Coachie is as good with player development (especially young players)as code Brown would probably be not....
But I know divas; & they are obssesed with how their legacies are perceived....I think this applies to L.B.'s case & he's looking for a little rehab love with some NBA team...
(doesn't mean it has to be Sactown tho'....)

Lack of punctuation? Check
Using "there" instead of "their"? Check
Lack of proper capitalizing? Check
Profanity? Check
Highly confrontational style? Check
Good start rimrock. You may want to check out the Spurs site (under "Basketball Blogs" on the lower right hand side) or Kingsfans.com to find some kindred spirits.
By the way, I think it's spelled "numbnuts".

Re: Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
So would that imply that Petrie's connection to coachie is perhaps as strong as Adelman's connection to coachie? That if were inclined to return as a sage he'd be as inclined to come to Sactown as to go to Houston?

Re: Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
I always thought the Carrill connection was more Petrie-Yoda than Adelman-Yoda, but I could be wrong. Either way, the interviews I'd heard with Carrill seemed to indicate his preference to be closer to home these days.
Re: Bring Back Coachie...dammit!
I was thinking of a short-term assist here...somewhere between 3 months & a year to help a new coach & staff as a confidence building measure....obviously nothing long-term....anything coachie could spare or is willing to offer.
