Chad Ford Espn Insider trade idea:

Here are a few trade rumors along with updates from the NBA workout scene:

* One possible destination for Ron Artest this summer? Houston, to be reunited with his former coach Rick Adelman.

I'm told the Rockets have been quietly putting out feelers about Artest, and the price might be right. I hear it would cost the Rockets Bob Sura (he has only $1 million in salary protection next year), Kirk Snyder, Vasilis Spanoulis and this year's first-round draft pick.

Star-divide

I don't have insider but the deal sounds ok, except i would try to get battier and throw the name kenny thomas out there to see if adelman wants  him back.

Re: Chad Ford Espn Insider trade idea:
I'd have no problem doing that. Don't know how well Artest will get along with not being a leader though. That was a real problem between him and Bibby. However since Ming and McGrady are much better players this might not be the same issue. As long as that 1st rd pick is in there I'm all for it. I don't want Battier because he is a role player and the Kings have too many of those. If the kings were a near level championship team that would be 1 thing. They aren't though so I don't like the idea of Battier. But that is plenty good enough for me though. The only downside is that having the 26th pick might not get that player from Europe that you might be able to get @ 20 or 21. I wonder if having that though would enable Petrie to swing a deal for that pick with Philly. Be worth a try anyway. Thanks for the update dun.

  30. Dallas

NOTE: With respect to the ties between Portland and Minnesota (36 and 37); New York, Charlotte and Sacramento (38, 39 and 40); and Philadelphia and Indiana (41 and 42): since the order of selection in the first round for each set of teams may change based on the results of the Draft Lottery, the order of selection in the second round cannot be determined until after the Draft Lottery is conducted on May 22.
For anybody who thinks Orlando is giving up too much to get SVG by giving up a 2nd round pick. They have 3 so giving up 1 to miami doesn't seem to hurt them much.

Re: Chad Ford Espn Insider trade idea:
I don't see any way Houston will be dealing Battier...they really are just a piece or two short of being a serious contender for the title, and Battier is a huge part of their perimeter defense.

Re: Chad Ford Espn Insider trade idea:
It makes them more versatile if Ming goes out also. They could put Artest at the 4, or Battier for that matter, plus Juwan Howard at the 5. This makes them a far better team if Artest shows up every night.
