Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression

A link to a feature story on Williams performance at the summer games is below.  Nice to see him getting some attention - which will hopefully translate into playing time this coming year.

P.S.  If we just ignore Shareef, Kenny and Brad for a moment, a starting frontcourt of Mikki and Justin with Spencer as a backup sounds fairly exciting (if Mikki can repeat last years performance, that is)

On a more realistic level, though, Mikki and Justin will serve as a nice set of energy subs.  (Still, the Kings still have at least one too many big men.  I almost think the Kings should just cut Kenny.  The only role Kenny plays effectively these days is as a source of humor.)

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Justin played really well with 14 pts and 14 rebounds but Spencer's footwork in the post really impressed me too for a 19 year old it seems like he already has every low post move in the book, He just needs to get stronger so he wont get pushed out of the post sometimes and of course his rebounding has not been good in summer league so that needs improvment also.I think Justin added about 15 pounds of muscle though maybe even more, hopefully Reggie Theus will give Justin time to play because he can't help this team unless he plays..right? so let's try to actually get his ass off the bench this season.

Spot on comments, Rimrock 101.  Justin and Hawes skills, at this point in their young careers, compliment each other: Each man's strength is the other's weakness.

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Which is why the signing of Mikki Moore is so frustrating because of that very fact Kusian.

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Yah, my main concern is for Justin. With Mikki Moore now, I would guess that the starting lineup will be Brad at center and Moore at PF. Off the bench first will be Hawes at center and Abdur-Raheem at PF which now puts Justin way down on the bench. None of our top 4 bigs will be rebounders and only one a hustle/energy player with athleticism. I sure hope a trade is coming to move Sharif (and Kenny too).
He can shoot, and he looks great in a suit. Hey, everybody - It's REGGIE TIME!

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Personally, I'd much rather see Brad play the PF and Moore play the C.  Brad may be heavier but he is one of the worst post defenders - if not the worst - starting at center in the league. And, I think he just plays better at PF. H

How many times has Brad made the opposing center look like Wilt?

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
I think the Knicks might be able to answer that question for you, Kusian. I'm surprised that they have not sued us for misrepresentation after the way Miller made Jerome James look in the playoffs.

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
That's not fair to Brad. Let's see how well you play in the playoffs on a broken leg. And I think Bobby Jackson had a bigger negative impact. At least Brad did something offensively.

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Maybe that was a little unfair, but c'mon, it was JEROME JAMES!

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Brad was pretty healthy vs Spurs in the playoffs though wasnt he? and he was AWFUL offensively and defensively.

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
The "Dude was Hurt" excuse should be used sparingly, e.g. "Dude Gibson could barely walk, pinch hit int he ninth and hit a home run to win Game 1 of the 88 World Series"

Please never mention that fag that is Kirk Gibson again. Eck should rot in hell for throwing that fucking fastball too.

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
Ummm yeah it is a sore spot. And Eck deserves a spot in hell for letting that gimp become the story. The next time I see Gibson doing that arm pump i wanna rip his arm off and shove it down his throat and kill him. :)

Re: Justin Williams Makes a Kingly Impression
I don't know if "fag" is a suitable metaphor to describe a person his size. Now Eckersley, he was built more like a cigarette or a twig.   Oh wait...I'm sorry. Were you suggesting he is attracted to men?  He may be. I do not konw. Either way, if this was your intention, I assure you no homosexual person would care to hear such an epithet used with such vehemence.  Try not to let your brooding stoop allow your knuckles to drag so close to the ground.
