Ron-Ron's Dog

I actually have a 3 separations to Ron Ron story.  A fellow employee of mine's bandmate Jeff actually ended up finding a dog on his way home one day from work. The dog didn't have tags, but was nice enough so he took it home with him, in hopes of helping it find its way home.

He ended up playing with it a lot and fell in love with the dog as it was: well trained, good-natured, and attention loving.  After a week or so he was kind of hoping the dog wouldn't get found (he put up signs near where he found it, but no one had contacted him). Halfway through the second week, however, two people from the Kings' organization (had on Kings' polos) came by to pick it up as it had a GPS chip in it to locate it (as it had escaped before).  The kings' people apologized that they had to take it, since he had grown attached, yet let them know it was Ron's dog and they needed to take it back to him.  Jeff was bummed out and he hadn't even heard about the whole Ron's dog ordeal in the paper, otherwise he might have used that line of defense to keep it.

The real bummer is a couple of weeks after they got the dog back from Jeff, it escaped again from Ron's house, but this time it wasn't so lucky and got hit and killed by a truck.

Re: Ron-Ron's Dog
Oh I should shamelessly plug there band too as they have some notoriety here in Sacramento, they are a Rock Band called Warp 11.  It's a Star Trek rock band, but they do it tongue in cheek as is illustrated by the name of one of their albums "Suck my Spock."

Re: Ron-Ron's Dog
Given the recent news about Michael Vick, Ron's doggie issues are starting to look a little less atrocious.

People do some f*cked up shit...

Re: Ron-Ron's Dog
Let's not heap all the blame on Ron here... What about all the other people at that house (wife, kids, I assume) that never fed the dog.  How careless can people be?  Very frustrating.

Re: Ron-Ron's Dog
It's hard to blame someone who is always on the road at work (you travel a lot in the NBA).  When you pay a housekeeper or whatever to feed your dogs and they don't well that is a shame.

My diary was more about are cowpoke passion, and how we all have some connections to our team.  Whether it be the craziest member (ron-ron) or just to the team mascot.

Re: Ron-Ron's Dog
Sactown is such a small place - especially if you are midtown/downtown type - that I'd be surprised if  there wasn't any more than 2 or 3 degress of separation between any one of us and a King's player.

Re: Ron-Ron's Dog
I think the dog story would have eventually died out if Ron-Ron had not followed it up with the domestic abuse.
