Bibby Trade Talks Stall In Cleveland
Following onto Thursday's story, it looks like any chance of sending Bibby to the Cavaliers, and gaining a package that would include Drew Gooden, is pretty much gone, especially with the signing of Mikki Moore.
The Akron Beacon-Journal says the Bibby deal "appears to be dead", arguing that Moore gives the Kings the inside size they were looking for.
Sam Amick confirms as much in today's Bee, saying that attention has turned to the backup point guard position, as trade talks with Bibby are quiet. Amick expects the next trade discussions around Bibby to take place in February, and that he will once again start the season with the Kings.

Re: Bibby Trade Talks Stall In Cleveland
So we have the "inside size" we were looking for? Does this mean that Mikki's going to protect the basket, or will Justin get a lot more burn this season?
Otherwise, Bibby's going to have to score 25 a game to make his plus/minus look good.

I'm not sure why he deserves a bit of slack - the guy is the highest paid player on the team. If he's not scoring the ball, he really gives you NOTHING.
Good thing is, his reputation as a scorer and a "big shot maker" around the league will probably keep his trade value high. Any team that picks him up and expects much more than a spot-up shooter is going to be sorely disappointed.

Otis, you are also correct when you state that MB10 gives you mothing if he doesn't put the rock in the hole. The only caveat is if he dishes out 8 or more assists, but as we all know this is indeed a rarity. I personally would like Mike to mold his game to the current squad and try to decrease his shot attempts while trying to facilitate the offense more. Brad is just plain horrible in that role now, so Bibby should step up.
I guess I just want to give Bibby one more season to prove what the rest of his career is going to be. I think/hope he has a much improved season next year both statistically and as a teammate. Only time will tell.

Also, if the Kings sign Wilks it either means (A) Ronnie Price is getting a helluva an offer somewhere or (B) the Kings decided that Ronnie Price is just not an NBA point guard.
If there is a silver lining it's that Wilks would only be signed as point guard insurance, meaning he would be around to collect minutes only in the event of injury or...the eventual trade of our starting point guard!?!

Re: Bibby Trade Talks Stall In Cleveland
He's as bad defensively as Mike.
He's also an inconsistent shooter and his assist numbers were bumped up by playing with 2 great shooters.

Mike Bibby has always had low assist numbers.

Interesting, assists were Bibby's strength in Vancouver.

This above scenario has been run a lot I just thought I'd revoice those opinions once more.

Having Allen & Pierce he's an ideal PG for them.
Re: Bibby Trade Talks Stall In Cleveland
I don't think his game has always been like this, Bibby used to get to the line more and have better shot selection this season he settled way too much for 3's and for some reason i think his defense stuck out the most this year. And also this is the most he is getting paid his whole career that might have something to do with it also, when his jumper is not falling he is pretty much WORTHLESS and his jumper was not falling consistently last season and if you are getting paid that much and you are terrible defensively you must produce on the offensive end and i don't think Bibby did either this year.

Re: Bibby Trade Talks Stall In Cleveland
Rondo is the poor man's Randy Brown. His shot is so bad (and his decision making is not much better) that I just don't see him as a viable NBA starting PG.
If Petrie has discussed Bibby for Ratliff/Rondo (or Telfair) the sticking point is probably that Petrie wants a draft pick for next year, a draft that promises to have at least a half dozen point guard prospects better than Law or Crittenton and enough talent at the bigs that a guy like Ante Tomic may still not be a lottery pick.
Here's hoping that the Celts get off to a decent start and determine that Bibby is the guy to help vault them to top.
