Grant Napear, Dancing Fool

This photo comes from the Associated Press. That's Glen Rice on the left, Scot Pollard and Vlade Divac on the right... and Kings play-by-play man/talk radio curmudgeon Grant Napear in the middle. (Thanks to rbiegler for pointing the photo out.)

Grant's always seemed close to Pollard and Divac -- not 'fly with me to Serbia to drink and dance and build houses for war orphans' close, but close enough this only shocked me instead of dumbfounding me. Whatever -- it still makes my list of most unlikely photos involving a leather jacket and stonewashed jeans, slightly beating out a rumored shot of Rick Adelman holding Tony Massenburg's legs up during a keg-stand.

I actually own a copy of that photo, it also features Brent Price wearing one of those Duff Man beer helmets, Peter Carril being written on by Mateen Cleaves and Geoff Petrie trying to explain the party to the cops.

Re: Grant Napear, Dancing Fool
Grant must be taller than I thought because most people would be dwarfed those giants.

Re: Grant Napear, Dancing Fool
Only one thing could be worse than running into Naps dancing like some fool and that would be Naps dancing in tight stonewashed jeans and a raunchy leather jacket.  This photo is actually taken from the practice sessions from an ill fated boy band project conceived to capture much needed public good will and votes for measures Q and R...

I would have guessed "Safety Dance" by "Men Without Hats(?)."

Re: Grant Napear, Dancing Fool
I thought it was funny that the AP caption failed to name him.

So, will he feel slighted enough by his lack of fame (by AP standards) to not mention his attendence or will we have to hear his slanted and ranted version of this party for the rest of the Kings season?

Maybe he's already mentioned it on KHTK but I would have missed it since I only listen when there is a possibility of Kings news.

I'm happy Vlade had a good party and I hope Corliss gets another good party out of his retirement.

I think Grant's been off the air all week; might still be in Europe.
