Baron v. Kmart

Need some help here.  The GF and I are having an argument about who is the better player.  I contend that Kmart is more valuable, due to his higher efficiency, and the fact that Baron often takes "games off".  She contends that Baron is "more clutch", but concedes that this is completely inquantifiable.

Can someone back me up with some stats, PER, etc?  Is it ridiculous to compare a SG with a PG?

How can I win this argument?

Take it from an old guy -
This argument is not worth winning. Concede defeat, put on a Baron Davis mask, and make a weekend out of it.

not what I was hoping to hear...
but funny nonetheless.  Tell me... if it weren't my gf, would this argument be worth making?  Am I just being a homer?

Baron....for now
Baron is an All-Star and has been selected to the all NBA team - and he is a game changer that wants to take the big shot. Kevin has not shown that he is that kind of player - yet. You also have to keep in mind that Baron has been around longer and is in his prime. I think Kevin can eventually be a better player.

With all that said, follow Section's advice.  Better to be "wrong" and happy. It just ain't worth arguing (especially when you are talking about two such good players).  We men never really "win" any argument anyway even when we do win the argument.

hmmm
Let's put it this way. If Baron is not an injury risk, I would take Baron over Kev anyday. Baron has never made it to an All-Star game but he is, for me, an all-star/borderline all-star player. He can put a team on his shoulders. I think Kev is a Scottie Pippen type of player. We still need to look for our star player (I'm not saying Baron is MJ but Baron can be a team's star player)

All Star
I am pretty certain that Baron is a two-time All-Star.  Are you saying he's been injured every time selected? I don't think so. I am pretty certain he's played in a couple of All-Star games.

I could be wrong, though.  Lil' help!

my bad
wow, he is a 2-time all star. My mistake. I thought he was one of those players that always got snubbed. He should be an all-star this year too but I'm not sure that's going to happen with Paul's emergence

Big Shot Baron
Kusian notes the biggest difference between the two - Davis has taken (and made) some big shots on the big stage. He's probably even at his best at those times. Martin may become that player, but he is not that player yet.

Right Now
Baron is a far superior player at the moment, but Kevin may get there. Only time will tell.

Baron
He is a franchise player, and K-Mart doesn't compare to him yet. Maybe it isn't fair because of their different positions. But Baron will always give you the rebounds, steals and assists. K-Mart has improved his steals and rebounds, and hopefully these numbers will keep going up.

Baron
Kevin Martin is good and will get better. I might cause some crow here but right now I don't even think K-Mart is better than Brandon Roy

No argument from me on that
I would have said that before the season too.

Agreed
Roy is special. I'd be surprised if people picked Kev over him. Gordon and Ellis, on the other hand, is a different story

Mike Miller
This guy is on fire. I've always enjoyed watching him play. He's so unselfish and rebounds the ball pretty well.

Nah,
It's just that Miller is so hot right now he has spilled over into this thread.

I should have just written Miller instead of
Mike Miller. That way, it would have looked like I was talking about one of our players
