The Lakers are currently the #1 team in the Western Conference. Wow! When was the last time that happened. And while we're on the subject, I wonder when was the last time the Kings were #1 in the conference. I'm sure the Lakers "reign" at the top will be a one day thing, especially with Kwame Brown being put back into the starting lineup.

The last time the Kings finished top of the West
was in 2001 2002 season. That was the year the Kings finished with 61 wins. The Lakers finished 2nd with 58.

since then...
have they been #1 in the conference during the season? not that it matters, but just curious. kinda like the lakers are #1 now, but i'd put money that they're not gonna finish at the top.

Obviously the first answer didn't clarify enough
The last time was the first & only time up to this point.

Obviously you didn't understand.
I wasn't talking about at the finish. I was talking about any time during the season.

What?
Look it up on basketball reference.com

okay...
it doesn't show the standings DURING THE SEASON. wow. but thanks for your advice on checking out basketball-reference.com. the last time was somewhere at the end of the 03-04 season. the kings at one point were 51-19 (march 21st, 2004 to be exact) but fell off at the end of the season. on that date though, they were #1 in the conference. is your browser translating into another language?

Yes
It automatically translates everything into pig latin.

No Otis, you spelled it correctly.

Oh ok.
I was wondering what that feeling was down there.

No need to get snide, pookey
'specially when there's obviously no reason to be so.  You specified "finished", which says little about their status during the season.
