Sactown Royalty First Half MVP: John Salmons

The vote was never in question, as Johnny never dipped below 30%. I should note I voted Kevin Martin, but I had no problem with any of Martin, Salmons or Brad Miller winning. Given Kevin's time missed, they're about even. (Dean Oliver's Win Shares has Martin and Miller tied at 11, and Salmons two back with 9. Martin's also leading in PER, but none would consider Salmons an inferior defender. And Johnny's been there every night.)

Also, because only 3 people voted for Kenny Thomas, 253 puppies in heaven will be kicked today. Great job, jerks.

John Salmons?
Actually, that's not too shocking. He'll start playing for second half mvp as soon as ron gets traded. Although I still think it should have gone to Mikki. How many votes besides mine did he get?

win shares
interesting tz, that you brought up win shares. brad miller already has 11 this year, compared to a total of 7 last year! john salmons 9 this year, and 10 for all of last year. and finally cisco, who has 7 this year compared to 6 last year.

I voted Reggie Theus
However, I would have voted no one. I think the first half is a collective works for a few individuals over time. Several stand out, but no one necessarily that much so over the other.

That being said I think voting for the 1st half MVP is a totally fallacy & pipe dream. Too many things got in the way for too many people to stand completely out for another. I suppose that bodes well for the future I guess.

Anyone who benches Kenny Thomas with his salary gets my nod.

Intersesting Take
Where were you before I voted for Miller? That is the most concise and compelling argument that I have ever seen!

I voted Slovenian
Seriously, could we have accomplished anything without a true point guard? Douby at the point is nothing short of scary, and Cisco, while a decent ball handler, still has a tendency to make bad decisions and is better as a set shooter than off the dribble.

I still say that Beno saved our season.

Don't make me come in there!
