Man
I hope the rookies come out this game! Especially Thompson.
Wack To Mack With The General and The Back. (J-Mac and D-Mac)
What?
You hope our rookies are secretly gay? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

One beauty of networking eh Kfan?

Wow
Moore just juked Joe Smith out of his socks.

Man
There’s a perverse part of me that missed these Trans-Siberian Orchestra commercials, since I’ll forever associate them with the Kings
Good shot Spencer
It’s OK to take that 18 footer if they leave you wide open.

Nice post up and jump hook for Hawes

Yep
could see him hesitate on the first jumper, but it was a good shot.

Decent 1st Q
up 26-18. getting our rebounded 16-8 is not a good sign though

Cisco seems to be forcing it
a bit today. His first shot was just ugly, and that last drive was a bit out of control.

murder, murder
Hawes can play in the post when there aren’t people that can eat him. Now he’s gotta learn to take that comfort in the post and use it against fellow seven footers.
Donte? Donte'! Donté?!?!
'spect da 'xtra E'
Wow
Spencer nice ORB and put back and a nice finish on the next trip. I think he’s made of for the poor summer league and that poor 1st game, and is picking up where he left off late last season. 7-9 for 14 points 3 boards and a Stl.

Go Spence
I’m willing to bet that Spencer reads this blog. He seems motivated tonight
Kevin Martin, line 1 holding for you. Your destiny is calling. - Section214
Spencer is pissed
He’s just abusing Joe Smith. If he can translate this against the beefy seven footers of the league, we’ll have ourselves a beast.
Less Mikki, More JT please
Oh
If you want to listen to Grant and Jerry, here’s a better link:
55-39 at the half
The Good:
- 10 Ast only 3 TO
- Good 2nd Q rebounding now only down 24-23
- Hawes 8-10 for 16 points and 5 boards in 13 minutes.
- Kevin was dominant early. Only played 7 minutes though
- Salmons shooting much better tonight. 3-4 for 11 points
- Brown 4-7 for 8 points 3 Ast. only 1 TO.
- Shelden 4 boards in 9 mins. good D and good hustle
The Bad:
- Garcia forcing it, 1-7 5 points.
- not much from JT 1-2 2 Pts. 2 Reb or Greene 0-2 0 Pts.

I like
Bobby Brown’s play. Unfortunately, if he keeps it up I think he can make the active roster, which is not a good thing for Douby. Q may find himself with a chronic hamstring injury come the regular season.

Nice comments by Reggie
On expectations:
- Played hard every night last year – build on that
- Had fun playing together – build on that too.
Ball movement ... is like jogging for most people: They do it occasionally, and it makes them happy. Then they go back to not doing it. - Henry Abbott
Agree
We talk a lot about young players learning and getting better the next year. It’s fair to say the same about Reggie. He’s been doing a lot better
So after a great 1st half
10 Ast – 3 TOs – 16 Pt. lead
We’re now at 13 Ast – 12 TOs – 1 Pt. lead 5:48 to go in the 4th.

I have to say
If Shelden can give us 7 points on 0-1 shooting 9 Rebs and 2 Blks in 20 mins, it really makes Mikki expendable at the deadline.
Ball movement ... is like jogging for most people: They do it occasionally, and it makes them happy. Then they go back to not doing it. - Henry Abbott
Agree
I was just thinking how it looks like JT may have fallen 3rd in the depth chart. On second thought, Mikki may be the one falling to 3rd
JT's a rookie
I had him behind Shelden just on experience, though that has been a point of contention around here all summer. Ideally Spencer, JT and Shelden all play well enough to make Mikki expendable.

I think too many people assumed that JT would automatically make a decent leap (and I think he will)
But I also think they thought Shelden would get buried in the process & Reggie wouldn’t recover and find him again. That may happen because, after all, JT is just getting used to the pro game. Shelden’s been around it for 2 seasons now.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on
IF they didn't think he could play
They wouldn’t have sent Rex down to work with Shelden all summer.

Maybe Shelden asked for help too
Just because A precedes B doesn’t mean one has anything to do with the other.

Yeah
22 pts. on 9-14 and 4 Ast. 4 TOs isn’t great but he’s a rook still learning his teammates.

Everybody's talking about Mikki being expendable (and he should be)
But why is noone talking about B-Jax in the same breath?

Maybe that's the way it'll play out
I’m afraid it’ll be Quincy that will take the hit though and not BJax.

Yeah I think you're right unfortunately but who knows
Maybe all will be well in the end. (Only reason I would favor trading Quincy at all at this point is to move K9 for cap relief.)

I got slammed for that thought before the season....
Looks like the proof is in the pudding though… Bjax love aside, the guy is a one year rental who would do no more than stunt the growth of our young guards were he to get significant playing time.
When, and show me where?
And by whom? Until then it’s difficult to respond.

On Mikkii: I already pointed out that his contract because of the buy out makes him great trade bait next year. Until then he’s a good insurance policy, against one of the other bigs getting hurt. It is still to be seen if Hawes knee’s can stand extended minutes over 82 games.
QD could do well in a modified triangle offense, but with so many players already that can fill that position, and a wealth of big SG in the draft he’s going to have to be spactacular to earn a roster spot next year. Not picking up his option for next year gains us $ but no cap space, so I agree with TZ. I think the Kings pick up his option. Then he either gets traded or battles for a roster spot next year.

Fun game
Kevin, Hawes, Brown, Salmons and Shelden all played very well.

More than seeing a young core all recently put together play well together?
I know it’s pre-season, and OKC will be fairly bad again this season, but jeesh. (I wish I could have been up to see the game. This wasn’t possible so I won’t lament.)

What really disturbed me about the game
Only 9k in attendance? Even that was an optimistic number going by the looks of it.
It's sad to say
But there are alot more people who would go watch Ron Artest than Donte Greene. Unfortunately.

Ticket prices
Ticket prices haven’t been changed in 3 or 4 years, but they’re way too high for preseason. They should discount ticket prices for the preseason games. People will come back as the young guys develop.
