What?
You hope our rookies are secretly gay? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

55-39 at the half
The Good:
- 10 Ast only 3 TO
- Good 2nd Q rebounding now only down 24-23
- Hawes 8-10 for 16 points and 5 boards in 13 minutes.
- Kevin was dominant early. Only played 7 minutes though
- Salmons shooting much better tonight. 3-4 for 11 points
- Brown 4-7 for 8 points 3 Ast. only 1 TO.
- Shelden 4 boards in 9 mins. good D and good hustle
The Bad:
- Garcia forcing it, 1-7 5 points.
- not much from JT 1-2 2 Pts. 2 Reb or Greene 0-2 0 Pts.

If Shelden can give us 7 points on 0-1 shooting 9 Rebs and 2 Blks in 20 mins, it really makes Mikki expendable at the deadline.

by eduardo_m7 on Oct 10, 2008 9:31 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
JT's a rookie
I had him behind Shelden just on experience, though that has been a point of contention around here all summer. Ideally Spencer, JT and Shelden all play well enough to make Mikki expendable.

by Kfan in Korea on Oct 10, 2008 9:35 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think too many people assumed that JT would automatically make a decent leap (and I think he will)
But I also think they thought Shelden would get buried in the process & Reggie wouldn’t recover and find him again. That may happen because, after all, JT is just getting used to the pro game. Shelden’s been around it for 2 seasons now.

Check out this post:
http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2008/10/6/629827/a-good-sign-for-quincy-dou#9247294
On Mikkii: I already pointed out that his contract because of the buy out makes him great trade bait next year. Until then he’s a good insurance policy, against one of the other bigs getting hurt. It is still to be seen if Hawes knee’s can stand extended minutes over 82 games.
QD could do well in a modified triangle offense, but with so many players already that can fill that position, and a wealth of big SG in the draft he’s going to have to be spactacular to earn a roster spot next year. Not picking up his option for next year gains us $ but no cap space, so I agree with TZ. I think the Kings pick up his option. Then he either gets traded or battles for a roster spot next year.

Ticket prices
Ticket prices haven’t been changed in 3 or 4 years, but they’re way too high for preseason. They should discount ticket prices for the preseason games. People will come back as the young guys develop.
