Portland, The New Nemesis
Portland is going to kick our butts for a few years. I'm not exactly cool with that -- they were one of the worst teams in the league, like, two years ago. UNFAIR, Portland. Unfair.
I don't have a ton to say about the game. Kevin Martin and John Salmons continue to play sexy basketball, Bobby Brown struggles to run the team, Jason Thompson does everything but offense well, Greg Oden visits Spencer Hawes at 2 a.m. every night wearing a Freddy Krueger costume and wielding a pole saw. If Reggie Theus wants to win in the first few games, and Francisco Garcia remains hobbled, Martin and Salmons need to play 40-44 minutes each.
Here are some reactions from neutral and opposing viewpoints:
* Basketball Prospectus' Kevin Pelton came down to ARCO for the game.
* A Blazers fan recaps the contest. Dave from Blazers Edge does the same.
* Kevin Martin makes his pitch to be your favorite player. Similarly, Ball Don't Lie is like "what."

We will be having quite a few nemesis' during the next few years
as our rebuilding takes shape.
And I can’t get enough of watching the “Martin Dominance” held nightly at the expense of anyone and everyone not in a Kings uniform.
Napear: "Going in to the final timeout what did the coach tell you?"
Bibby: "I asked the coach if I should go and he said, I don't really know what he said."
Nemeses?
I’ll be sending a plethora of memoranda about this type of faux pas.
Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen.
Faux pas
My dogs have faux pas. My neighbor’s dog had an accident and only has three pas.

Andy Sims will be here all week. Don’t forget to tip your waitresses – they work very hard.
Goodnight everybody!

You'll appreciate the Blazers more
when we get good enough to beat the Lakers like a rented mule.
