"He's important to us, from my perspective, because he has a different game than anyone else on our team," Theus said. "He is sort of a low-post bruiser – a space eater is what we call him – and we don't have anyone else on the team like that. I think (he's) very valuable in that sense."

Glad to hear

that he spent his summer in So Cal working with Coach Kalamian on his conditioning and offense. Plus a full training camp and a switch to the Triangle offense could help him alot. There’s a lot of picks and screens in the triangle and the weak side post player’s main job is to crash the boards. I have my fingers crossed for him.

I would not mind seeing Shelden

“space” eat some of Mikki Moore or Brad Miller’s minutes if he can earn them. To the future!

Space eater

Should compliment the skeleton army nicely.

What, like...

Shelden’s forehead – now that’s a space eater.

Not from me, pal. Too low brow.

Or...

in this case, high brow?

Forehead?

I only saw a five-head. Ta-da.

Seriously, I expect more of the same in greater quantity: better D, worse O…just the guy he is.

Williams stuffs Moore

Did you see Melody’s video of the Kings scrimmage. Williams comes in to replace JT and blocks Moore.

Interesting

I’m very interested to hear whether Shelden or Thompson is doing better. I guess we’ll find out once the preseason games start.

That is interesting I agree

My hope is that

they both will do better than Moore. Hopefully by the end of December. I don’t think it’s likely, but I think it would be the ideal situation.

Moving Moore for cap relief if that happens would be sweet wouldn't it?

Sweet bargaining chip

as part of a trade to a team that is over the Luxury Tax he’s worth 3 to 1. They can trade us a salary worth $6M + $6M luxury tax costing them a total of $12M. They can buy him out next year for $2M and save $4M in salary plus $4M in Luxury Tax. And that’s only the first year, if the guy they trade us has a longer contract , they can save an additional $12M the following year.

Thompson pulled for Williams

With little time on the clock and the vets inbounding, they pulled JT and Williams came in to guard Moore. I don’t know who called that but with only seconds on the clock it doesn’t look like it was a scheduled change. It looks to me like it was a defensive move.

Cisco is seen shaking his left hand after Bobby Jones wacks him, and Greene’ enters to replace Cisco about the same time. But from what Reggie said about Greene’s defense, you’d have to think that that was a injury substatution.

I also found it interesting that the score was 88 to 87. No real advantage to the starters.
