May we see more K9 minutes this season?
Theus…what are you thinking?! Ok, I can see it from the point that Theus might want to save that poor dog’s career, but come on. K9 doesn’t deserve anymore playtime after last season. About 1 rebound/point per game in an average of like 10 to 12 minutes last season? That’s HORRIBLE. Just put him out of his misery.
Ok Ok, maybe I’m being harsh here. If he can play like the Kenny Thomas of old, then I think Reggie should give him playing time. If he doesn’t earn his minutes from his garbage time, send him home.

K9
was an afterthought in that conversation. I think he was added more as a politically correct type of statement by Theus. I’ll worry about K9 getting minutes if he actually makes the 12 man roster.

The future of 4
Having listened to everything he said (my ears didn’t go numb upon hearing Kenny Thomas’s name mentioned in terms of minutes) I think that the future of the PF position for the Kings will depend largely on how JT develops.
Theus mentioned him having the ability to bring the ball up, and we’ve heard that a lot, but he also mentioned JT playing around the rim (YAY!) and his passing ability. He talked about the 4 being the position that required the most adjustment, and the ability to read what’s happening on the court and react to it.
These things seem to go well with JT’s skill set. I don’t think we’ll see anything remarkable this year. He probably won’t get a lot of minutes, particularly early on. But if he develops into the kind of player it sound like Theus is seeing him become, I’m happy.
I like the idea of a multi-skilled big man who can also really play around (or above) the rim.

Above the rim?
I didn’t know that was an option on the Kings.
