Game #10: Suns at Kings

Phoenix Suns at Sacramento Kings, Nov 14, 2008 7:00 PM PST

As we've reported today: no Leandro Barbosa, no Matt Barnes ... and NO STEVE NASH!

Goran Dragic awaits.

Also, something named a Shack O'Neill or something. I don't know. Do you know that guy's name? I've never heard of him.

Stodemire winds up playing a pretty crappy game. S*ithead sure showed up in OT, didn’t he?

LOL Yeah no doubt

He went hard. He just went at the rim at the wrong angle is all. The Kings really missed Kevin Martin tonight badly, but that is equally true of the Suns. Can’t cry about the losses, you gotta do what it takes to win.

it was fun. We got what we deserved. More TOs than Assists. not going to win many games like that. Nice game Spencer. JT had his first real bad game. Nice to see Douby get some burn.

Disappointing night all around

Got the Spurs in town.

I ain’t gonna assume anything any longer. The Kings couldn’t beat a Suns team without Nash, Barnes or Barbosa so I ain’t going to assume they can beat a Spurs team without Parker or Ginobli.

I think the loss

Speaks how hard it is to beat a team when you aren’t playing at a high enough level to win yourself.

That's what Clipper fans were really complaining about Wednesday night

It’s what we should be grumbling about tonight. Beno looked awful for 3 qtr’s. Brad save a few mins, looked awful the whole game, Spencer looked great, and Salmons had his moments at times. Outside of that, I’m not really sure there is much to say.

Am i the only one?

Or did anybody think we had a chance to win tonight come the 4th qtr? They just never looked comfortable at all tonight. No rhythm, no semblance of offensive coherence, doesn’t look like their is a game plan, maybe Joe Maloof is right.

Nahhhhhh. Joe’s still an idiot.

We had a chance

It was just a bad game. This team is going to have some of those. We almost pulled it off anyways. Both teams were bad and the team with the best player won because that best player made shots in OT.

by eduardo_m7 on Nov 14, 2008 10:05 PM PST up reply actions

They didn't look good

more like the team from the 1st 4 games than the team from the last 4. Young team, gotta expect a stumble here and there. That we had a chance at the end was a nice surprise.

Yup I'm with ya there

I also think it’s hard to build a cohesive offensive unit if you’re veterans are unsure of how they want to play like Brad was so often tonight. Anybody can complain about an offensive gameplan, but if you’re supposedly “offensively minded offensive system” center can’t even show coherence, how are young guys adjusting to the NBA going to do that?

Just back from the game

The first half looked like everyone was at the same party late last night. No energy from either team, especially us.
What the F@#!!
Waaay outrebounded fro no particular reason other than lack of effort.
JT really looked like a rookie tonight – as did BobbyB.

No one looked like they wanted to take the shot.

2nd half Brad really showed up on the boards and the crowd really tried to get them back in and eventually, eventually, they responded and started hustling. Salmons especially really got into his defense and Douby came in and gave them a lift with some pts and some blocks.

Pretty good effort from the 4th quarter on but again, the team looked tired. (?) Didn’t they have the day off yesterday? Douby had a good clean look to win, but his tank obviously was empty.

Missed free throws (sigh). Shaq hit most of his and had his best game in a year or so that I can remember.

Beno disappeared in this one after a very good start. A shot in overtime that mattered.

The lack of shooters really showed in this one but worse, they just did’t look aggressive enough. I know shaq is intimidating – but when he was out they still didn’t go to the basket enough. JT and Hawes were especially dissapointing in that regard.

The crowd, though not sold out was great once the team gave them a chance to cheer.

Cisco? Cisco? CISCO!!!! #*$!%! !

by lietothegirls on Nov 14, 2008 10:51 PM PST reply actions

The crowd isn't the problem LTtG

I agree with almost all of your points minus Shawes. He really did play very hard the time he was out there. Without Spencer this game had no redeeming value for the Kings.

Ok, maybe

Just a little dissapointed at the overall lack of aggressiveness, and at the moment, if we don’t get it from them (the bigs) than who?

Much better in the second half overall though. Digging out of a hole we had no good reason to be in.

The crowd reaally tried to give them the energy to finish it.

Cisco? Cisco? CISCO!!!! #*$!%! !

Just got back

Things I liked:

1. (sound of crickets)

2. Beno

3. (more crickets)

4. Quincy’s defense

Things I didn’t like:

1. Quincy’s jump-shot. A foot short on all of them.

2. Bad turnovers. Seemed like Miller had 18 of them. I think the official scorer missed a few.

3. Lack of energy. Nash and Barnes aren’t playing so I guess we can phone it in.

4. Bob Delaney. He should never be allowed to officiate a Kings game.
