Game #11: Spurs at Kings

San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings, Nov 16, 2008 6:00 PM PST

Huzzah! Who's laughing now, San Antonio? Without Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, this might be a bit of a fair fight.

Game's at 6. Reggie Theus still has a job. That's a good thing.

GO KINGS!!!!!!

If they want to get rid of Reggie doing it during the year would set the team back IMO. Look for JT to have a big bounce back game I don’t ever remember him having two bad games in a row.

I Don't Think They Would Get Rid Of Reggie

He actually is doing a great job. O well, I hope we win today. Its a home game

OK, my thoughts

First, I am shocked the Kings are favorites. I’d take the over o the points for sure, and the homer in me says take the Kings and the points. We’ve got some tough games coming up, so wee need this one.

Let's take it at

Duncan early and often. Make him work on both ends and if we can get him in foul trouble all the better. Go Kings.

And TD

does his best to show that he’s not the best ever.

You gotta walk thru it. Easier said than done though.

Quincy Douby

should not be attempting our game winners.

Thing about Q's shot

He could’ve dribbled in, gave the defender a pump fake, but instead he just caught and shot a 30+ footer and came up.

BOOK IT!

I don't mind Douby

but that was a terrible last play

by Beagle12 on Nov 16, 2008 8:33 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Statistically

Based on last season’s numbers our best player for taking that shot was in street clothes. Our second best player now plays for Houston, and our third best option is our starting PG.

I’ve always felt the “Bibby is a clutch shooter” is a bit of a myth based on a few high profile games.

Kevin Pritchard has Chuck Norris tied up in the trunk of his car.

If you sort that chart by FG%

Mikki is sixth in the league!

Maybe Mikki should be the go to guy in crunch time?

Give San Antonio Credit

They shut the Kings down in the last 2 minutes. Too many miss opportunities and Tim Duncan shows why he’s the MVP.

BOOK IT!

I think San Antonio DOES deserve credit

You have to win the game at the NBA level, and not lose it. If the Kings play not to lose, they’ll lose a lot more. We can all blame Reggie if he want for anything, but ultimately, it’s still on the guys on the court.

ugh

Why Douby again?? Why not Salmons@!#@#

by sactown on Nov 16, 2008 8:29 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

This is not

Douby’s fault. The Spurs took everything else away.

by Scirocco on Nov 16, 2008 8:30 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

The two plays out of time outs

one to JT and one to Douby were not the best options at that point of the game IMO

by Beagle12 on Nov 16, 2008 8:34 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Who would you prefer?

Salmons was covered. Brad had just airballed a 10 footer. Beno had been clanking jumpshots all day. That same play would normally have gone to Martin or Garcia, but they were not there.

by Scirocco on Nov 16, 2008 9:02 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

A lot of this was the spurs

And alot of that was the 2 guys you WANT taking that shot are sitting on the bench in street clothes. Take care yall.

I just watched the last play again

and Douby did not run his man into the screen that Miller set, if he did he would have been at the top of the key wide open, the paly was not bad Douby did not execute the play well

by Beagle12 on Nov 16, 2008 8:52 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Where Douby went wrong

He had 1.8 seconds and should have been instructed that he could have dribbled at least once. He did good coming around up top but neglected to curl toward the basket. He took a 26 footer when he easily could have toed up to the line if he either curls around more or better yet put the ball on the floor once.
