The Maloof Brothers may have come up with a way to get their team back into the national spotlight.

Maloof Productions is partnering with reality icon Mark Burnett for a behind-the-scenes program called "Rebuilding the Kingdom" on all things Kings.

"It's a good idea," Kings' rookie Jason Thompson said. "We have a lot of young guys, and (our lives) intrigue a lot of people, especially rookies' lives. We have guys who aren't shy to the camera. We have a lot of personalities, and guys who like to have fun."

Do not want

… unless Garcia and Donté sing every episode and we meet Beno’s people.

Should be good publicity for the kings though.

A lot of hype can be gained for even a bad team with a sports documentary (Ultimate Fighter, Dallas Cowboys, Contender). The more the nation gets to know our beloved kings, I can’t help but think that people will be rooting for them, especially since they aren’t already overexposed ala Lakes, Celts, Knicks, etc.

JT loves video

If i’m not mistaken, Jt was a multimedia major in college and worked on the college tv station. This is probably the best thing he could hope for. He gets to play BB and be on TV.

I dunno, reality TV seems like it worked for

Jeff Conaway.

Perfectly normal, perfectly healthy.

I sure hope this is a joke

It’s a bad idea. Of course I may be biased because I hate reality tv shows. One thing the Kings don’t need at this juncture is a distraction. I think this would only seal their fate of cellar dwellers.

I hate reality television too

but I like the Kings, and would probably watch this.

Weird, because I also like playboy models, but I don’t watch/ can’t watch The Girls Next Door. I haven’t tried muting the TV yet though.

Reality TV

Is idiots training a generation of children to be bigger idiots. Goes along with rap etc.,

What a great proletarian idea!

Lets do away with artists, musicians, actors and just use Joe shmoe and/or electronic sampling for our music and entertainment.

Cisco? Cisco? CISCO!!!! #*$!%! !

Sweet!

I hate reality TV on principal but end up watching one or two shows a week, so I know I would love a show on the Kings. Requirements and plots:

Garcia says “I’m Dominican Mahn” every week

Hunting trips between Brad and Spencer

Peaches throwing hissy fits and Jerry Reynolds acting old and crazy

Will they fire him or not? The Theus question is the season arch

Kenny Thomas and ticket salesmen with sad faces

Wait, who needs reality TV when we have Kings broadcasts on Comcast Sports net?

by Doubl3Dos3 on Nov 18, 2008 9:41 AM PST reply actions

Maybe, just maybe

the public will get to know and love Kenny Thomas so much that their team’s owners forget his contract and trade away everything for him…

It could happen.

You want me to watch?

Get somebody to punch Peaches in the face, and I’ll watch every episode three times.

Shut up and Coach
