IF I were a gambling man...

The Kings are giving 5.5 points
Money line is +190 (very tempting)
Over/Under is 196

Talk amongst yourselves…

Wait....Why is everybody clapping? Everyone around me is clapping.... I guess I should be clapping too... GO LAKERS!!! I hate living in So Cal

My take...

I’ll take the Kings to cover, but not necesarily win. I’ll take the under as well. And man, is that money line tempting…

I can't believe an injury

depleted Kings team is favored against anyone on the road. There is no way I’d put money on this Kings team on the road.

You are right...

…because I was wrong. Kings were 5.5 dogs. And needed more.

hONESTLY

I would take the over if only because Miller is bound to be better vs Memphis. The Kings can’t possible be as horrible with the ball in Memphis as they were vs Phoenix especially. So in that sense, I would take the over on the points, and with Memphis winning (if I gambled and I don’t).

It would be much easier to fork over the 90 in jack, and just be done with it. Alas, however, that wasn’t really the case. The problem I was having was with pure video.

My final comment

I’m assuming there are those who think the beat goes on when a player like Martin goes down. That’s all good fine & dandy, but the beat may go on, but the team isn’t as good. You put a young, in-experienced team surrounding Martin, it’s one truly bright spot, and you surround him with incomplete talent, and it’s a team that will play hard, but not win as much.

Here’s the problem. You start the season, and the team looks flat. It comes back home to Arco, and wins 3 games, but not up to “standards”, and team then loses it’s next 5 out of 6. A young team is not usually a capable team. This team is no exception. Miller has too many flaws to make up for not having Martin in the lineup. Udrih is in this boat too. We can all spend our time getting mad at the effort, but a team like this one is maddening.

My only question is, what if the beginning of the season had happened, and went along fairly smoothly as far as effort and everything else. Would we be as hyped, and pissed off, and everything else? Maybe, but at least we could say, at some point, that the team did work, and was capable of doing certain things most nights, when the group was healthy and there as a total unit. Until we can say that, it’s going to be very difficult to gauge this group without Martin or Garcia around. (This team didn’t miss Mikki Moore tonight, but they miss his spirit on the court. That’s even more true when Martin & Garcia’s gone. And only if Moore is playing well enough to contribute. On the road trip he wasn’t doing even that.)

The basketball term for players like Douby is this:
“Practice player.”
In other words, he’s the type of player that plays great in practice and looks great but in games he chokes.
