Can we at least agree
That the Quincy Douby experiment needs to end as soon as KMart and/or Garcia suit up?

Real ?
Do Kings fans approve of the job GP or the Maloof`s(talking to media rather than behind closed doors) have done?

This pole is
next to useless. The results are clouded by the talk of firing Reggie. A no vote implies a desire to fire him, so I think many people will vote yes just because they don’t want to fire him now. There should be multiple responses, something like this:
- Yes, sign him to an extension
- Yes, let him coach out the season, then decide on an extension
- Yes, but I’m concerned about the team’s play, things better improve quickly
- No, let him coach out the season, then decide on an extension
- No, don’t fire him now, but things better improve quickly
- No, fire him now.

I take offense to you saying Pole's are useless
Al Simmons was pretty awesome sir.

I don't like these polls
They seem sort of useless to me. It’s early in the season. Our two best players, who play best with eachother have only played a few games together. We’ve been bitten by the injury bug. And not to mention, some guys just aren’t as good as we’d like them to be, whether they be vets who are showing signs of age or youngsters making mistakes. The Reg is doing a decent job for what he has. Give him a real team and let’s see what he does.

If 4-8 is a "decent job"
With a handful of road blowouts…I’d hate to see what a “bad job” is.
Geez, you’d think we were the only team in the league that deals with the injury bug. Difference is, most other teams that deal with the injury bug also have focus, direction and cohesion from their head coach.
It would be hypocritical for me to complain about the losses too much, because the team’s record this year is really irrelevent to the more important issue, and that is developing not just the young players on this roster, but an overall on-court philosophy as well. That is the part I’m struggling with here.

I'd agree with that
If Joe Maloof had just shutup and not said anything last Friday.

Hmm...
Honestly, I’m starting to feel that Theus is in a little over his head. The makings of a great coach are there. But I think he should’ve spent some time as an NBA assistant or gotten that old veteran assistant he said he was going to get last year. I’m starting to slowly change my mind on Theus as our coach. I don’t think he should be extended, but he should be allowed to finish out the year. If he’s not gonna get the job done let him at least give us Rubio.
But, who else could we get as a coach? JVG, maybe? Avery?

I say Bill Cowher
His name seems to come up regarding every other coaching vacancy. :)

Flip Saunders?
I still blame Billy Donovan for costing the Kings Stan Van Gundy.

Flip Saunders
Likes the Princeton offense. Has developed rookies and worked with veterans. And I don’t buy into the “can’t win the big one” crap from his Detroit teams, since none of those Pistons teams were ever really the best teams. Good/borderline great, but never the best or deepest talent.

Flip?
Reports were he completely lost his team last year. Without KG’s major efforts, Flip’s Minny teams were nothing. He took a very talented Detroit team but couldn’t do any better than the minimially talented Minny teams. I don’t think he’s the answer.

Saunders
.597 winning percentage, 11 playoff appearances in 13 seasons, 4 conference finals with 2 different teams.
And the better candidate would be…

There are no guarantees in sports...
…except that Flipper will NEVER win a championship.
He will make the Kings MUCH MUCH better than they are today, but as long as he’s our coach, we’ll be hopeless.
And our spirits will be crushed each night we see his “oh God, I just crapped my pants” face on our sideline.

…As for next year and beyond…I need to think about that…
But not Flipper!

I said Rick Adelman in jest
But there’s always a possibility he’s available section. And I think the Maloof’s would have to consider him at the very least. Although, it’s far too early to speculate. After tonight, I’m willing to believe REGGIE can be the answer.

The smoke from that bridge fire can still be seen from Gavin Maloof’s office. Not gonna happen.

Did Flip...
make the Pistons into champs? Did they improve? He took an obviously talented team and accomplished the status quo.
I think a better measure of the coach’s success would be how much better did he make his teams. Marty Schottenheimer had great success during the season, but he never won in the playoffs. They both had many chances. They are what they are…good in-season coaches that somehow couldn’t get their teams to excell when it counted.

I'm not arguing any of that -
I’m just dying for someone to provide a better candidate. Who is there that meets your standards of measurement? This is not me being a smart ass. I just don’t see anyone out there better than Saunders – and I’d love to find someone. This is also not a call for Reggie’s ouster. But to this point no one has been able to provide a legitimate candidate superior to Flip Saunders.
I’m waitng and hoping…

I think that's why
it would be wise to wait until the end of the season to make any coaching change, unless Flip is the guy you want. If he is, you grab him now, before someone else does. Otherwise you wait for the inevitable late season/end of season firings and you will also have access to the assistants at that time.

Superior candidates?
The only names I can think of are re-treads, and I’m not very fond of that breed. Assistants? Often better choices, but I’ll leave those decisions to the almighty GP, since he’s in the know. I don’t like college to NBA guys. So, no names, just a class of candidates that someone like GP should be far more familiar with than I.

Cisco should stay out a few more weeks...
…he’s gone from 6th man to one of “our two best players”…if he stays out til Feb he’s an all-star, fo shizzle

He wasn't talking about Cisco
He was commenting that Miller and Martin haven’t played more than a few (two?) games together this seaseon. If he was talking about Cisco, he would have said, “one of our two best players has yet to play this season”.
