Hey Scotty Brooks!
Carlisimo is out already as the Oklahoma City "Whatever the crap their minor league name is" Coach.... which is weird right? did Presti really think they should be winning games already? Oh I get it, they want to hire a bigger name coach to draw more fans......so maybe 12 people will come out and watch them try to play basketball! No, that's not it......anyway, I'm not crying for PJ, but for a guy who had to wait so long for a second chance at coaching to get his plug pulled already seems a bit knee-jerk and pointless. But when one door gets slammed shut another one opens....Congratulations Scott Brooks interim head coach for your Oklahoma City Thunderersers. I'm gonna go get my Car washed at "Dribbles" now, Booyah!
and apologies for no link, I just read it on hoopshype, so you can go there and find it i suppose

Basically my reaction
I thought he was paid to lose games. Seriously. Nick Collison was his best frontcourt player. Kevin Durant was his only backcourt player worth his contract. That they got ONE win is beyond me.
Chris Wilcox, Joe Smith, Desmond Mason, Westbrook and Jeff Green flush out their talent – no one else should have an NBA contract. However, if any of those guys is higher than 5th on your depth chart, you’ve got issues. Yet, he was making do with them as his entire TEAM.
They’re supposedly “rebuilding” – but he only has three pieces of his future to work with. What’s he supposed to do?
Anyway, this actually makes me quite happy. I want that franchise to go bankrupt in three years, so that the city of Seattle can buy them back for 10 cents on the dollar.
Donte? Donte'! Donté?!?!

Uh, Frank
That’s not your desk. You guys might want to check the attendance numbers for the Thunder before you start cracking jokes about how many people go to the games. OKC is 7th in the league in attendance, while Sacto falls in at #29.

And PJ was doing an awful job. If you think the Kings have no offensive system you should watch a Thunder game sometime. He should go be a college lit professor, which is exactly what he looks like.
Well, we'll see how those numbers hold up over time
This is a fad, the attendance numbers will steadily drop over the next 5 years. Part of this will be because the team is terrible, the other part will be due to the fact that OKC is not a viable media market for the NBA*.
*Here’s my bias. I’m from Louisville, and I think it’s been a farce to watch the NBA send teams to Memphis, Charlotte and OKC before they put a team in Louisville (I mean, come on, within 80 miles of Cincinnati and Lexington? How would that not work?!).
I recall similar things being said about Sacramento in '85
And the first decade of Kings basketball was pure horseshite. Yet the fans kept coming.
The economy may be the great decider here on OKC’s ability to maintain a nice attendance level, but I wouldn’t assume waning enthusiasm to automatically be an issue.
