ESPN Honors JT...Sort of.
MONDAY'S WORST
Jason Thompson, Kings: We honor the impressive rookie big man with expectations -- dropping zero points in a 91-90 loss to the Blazers is beneath the Rider alum who entered the game averaging 12.1 ppg.

Hey when he's expected to contribute
It shows they’re treating him like a veteran. And that is a bit disappointing he didn’t score all game.

No worries
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see much of this game (most of the 1st half plus the very end), but when I was watching I did see JT hustling, scrapping, and working hard on defense, so I’ll forgive the kid an 0-3 night in his rookie season. At least he didn’t try to force things and stretch it to an 0-7 night or worse.
I really feel like there’s something special about this guy. I don’t remember the last time I was this excited about a young player. He’s just a gamer.

Yeah, well
Second night of a brutal back to back, plus Theus’ obsession for the Dreded Lobster. How dare JT have a bad shooting night.
Bullsh*t!!!
0-3 is not a bad shooting night, it’s a non-shooting night. And JT did grab 6 boards in 18 minutes. Certainly not his best performance, but -
D.Wade went 7-23 from the floor. Now that’s a bad night. Ramon Sessions and LaMarcus Aldridge were both 3-14. Now that’s a bad night. Tim Duncan missed 12 of 18 shots last night. Rudy Gay missed 13 of 19 shots last night. Those are bad nights.
Just more of what I’ve come to expect from the “World Wide Misleader.”

Sir
I agree with you, but I find it interesting that ESPN chose not to criticize any of those players. At least JT is being treated like a veteran. Be nice if he could get more mins than Mikki Moore every night though.

That is coming
or has come. MM is being dangled as trade bait I think.

I would hope so
And I don’t doubt it. I think even Reggie knows it’s time to part with Mikki. I wouldn’t mind seeing Mikki end up in Nawlinz. He deserves to be on a good team that might win something come May.

I'd be happy for him

If it makes anybody feel any better, a writer at Dime says Jason Thompson is his favorite rookie.

I'll feel swell if
JT finished top 3 in the ROTY voting, and on the first team.

That would be sweet
and thanks for the link – wabut.

Or how about some representation at the rookie/soph game during all star break?
Our youngsters never get the call for those and they are practically unwatchable with no kings on them.
Napear: "Going in to the final timeout what did the coach tell you?"
Bibby: "I asked the coach if I should go and he said, I don't really know what he said."
I think the whole weekend is pointless
But sure why not?
