i agree with the knicks thing. there like raider fans of the nfl. crappiest team and they stick with em every year
theres only a top 5 but how the clippers got onto that and that high on the top 5 is beyond me. i guess if u wanna be technical, there 1 fan is pretty loyal.

Yeah, this is a joke
Having lived in Sacramento, Southern California, and New York in the past six years I know these things:
1. New York gets the nod over Sac because there are way more of them than us.
2. Nobody cares about the Clippers except Frankie Muniz, and who knows if he’s still alive anyway?
3. Lakers fans are the most fair-weather bunch I’ve ever encountered. All flags and the Kobe jerseys come out when the playoffs are about to start. But when they don’t make the playoffs and the see-and-be-seen crowd doesn’t show Staples is totally dead, because all of the true fans were priced out years ago. They only seem like loyal fans because the Lakers are almost always good.

Frankie Muniz
Was recently on an episode of Criminal Minds.
Still alive at that point, but his character was locked in a padded cell at the end of the episode.

Attendence-
We MAY have the most loyal fans in the L, but our attendence numbers right now are DISGUSTING. Last night we had the lowest attendence in the NBA, by a substantial amount. Granted, Minnesota isnt exactly a top-draw, but 10k is a joke. Hopefully we can pick it up tomorrow night v. the Warriors.

About that
The Magoofs could do something about attendance by cutting ticket prices in the lower level. We all knew coming into this year that when you’re in the 28th or 30th-richest NBA market and your ticket prices are something like the 7th or 9th highest in the league, $90 tickets to sit in the very back of the lower level baseline do not sell.
I hate to see all those tickets get bought up by Laker/Warrior/etc. fans.
Isn’t it better to cut ticket prices and have butts in the seats? More people to buy $5 King dogs and $9 beers.

Yeah... Magoof didn't seem to happy on Friday night.
It’s his own fault though. It seems they’re in the ’we’ll just give away more prizes during the game’ mode, rather than doing something that would actually bring in the fans – lowering ticket prices. I also think that the Kings marketing department has no idea how to deal with this situation – they’ve never really had to push ticket sales until recently and their lack of an aggressive reaction so far is telling.
Ticket prices in the top 10 are fine when you’re putting a winner on the floor. When the team is in rebuilding mode, it’s definitely not.

Tough situation
The economic model is going to be increasingly difficult in most arenas, moreso in an area like Sacramento – we’ve been hit as hard with the housing crisis as almost anyone.
Plus, we are one of the few cities that doesn’t have a really solid corporate base for their team. I think we can all agree that Sacramento is probably not a good NBA town during a recession.
Lowering ticket prices isn’t going to magically put butts in the seats. When people are having to make tough financial decisions, I’d guess basketball tickets are a low priority – reduced prices or not.

That's surprising to me
Sacramento is probably not a good NBA town during a recession
I would have thought that the high government employment rate would make Sacramento relatively recession proof.

Laid off
And furloughed as well. I saw a blurb on the news this morning that Stockton has forced their city employees to take 10 days off between now and the end of the year to save some cash.

Stockton has been hurt more by the housing crash than anywhere else in the US right?
Sac may have it’s issues, as a lot of places do, but the crash will come unless something drastic is undertaken.

Indeed
Stockton/Modesto/Manteca – just brutal down there. Sacramento’s feeling it, but those cities have incredibly high levels of foreclosures…some neighborhoods are completely empty these days. It’s really sad.

I read an article in the Sunday Seattle Times
About how GWB’s unpopularity has hurt the Washington republican party. And it’s worse nationally and other places too. At least GWB’s reign as Prez will not be looked as successful, in term as it unfolded on a daily basis, or in history hopefully.

Interestingly enough
A few years back many Republicans I knew felt that Bush’s “genius” would not be appreciated for many years. I don’t hear much of that anymore.
If we truly live in a results-oriented world, that query should already be answered.

Your avatar might do that
on its own. You really should photoshop a little Kings logo in there, give us some hope we can believe in.

I think you’re wrong there. Lowering ticket prices would definitely bring in more fans. How much they would need to be lowered is certainly open for debate. The real question for the Kings to consider IMO is whether or not it would lead to more profit, and that’s a very complicated question. Without getting too far into it, I’ll just say this – If the Kings marketing department relied on on legal price discriminating tactics (such as discounting a group of games when purchased together) they would have a very good shot at increasing the number of butts in seats AND increasing revenue. The catch here is that any discounts and deals need to be packages in such a way that season ticket holders don’t feel they’ve been wronged, which gets trickier (read: the marketing department needs to be more creative with their packages) as the discounts get deeper.
