Shaq on the Kings' own Beloved Young Big Man:
If you want to be somebody, you've got to kill everybody. When I was young, it took me a while to get up for everybody. It's hard for me to get up for [Kings center] Spencer Hawes. Somebody asked me, 'Who is Spencer Hawes?' Who the -- is Spencer Hawes? And they did a big article, 'Shaq doesn't know Spencer Hawes.'
"But I get up for [Yao] Ming; I get up for those guys every day," he continued. "When you're an OK center that's trying to be good, you got to get up for everybody every night."
--Can't wait for the next game against the Suns. Perhaps, if Hawes can play out of his mind, Shaq will be able to place the name next time he's asked.
Brad Mller Trade:
League sources say the Kings have a standing offer of Shawn Marion in exchange for Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas – that deal seems to be the floor in which the Kings are negotiating from.
Brad Miller has been rumored to Miami and Chicago, although the Bulls continue to deny any interest in trades, despite recent internal disputes with young guys like Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha and Joakim Noah. New Kings' assistant general manager Jason Levien officially starts today, you can expect his first order of business will be finding the market for the Kings' pieces and to begin working with Geoff Petrie on setting the table for the future. That's expected to start with moving Brad Miller before the February 19th trade deadline.
--Later, B-Rad. Thanks for everything.
