Meet Kenny Natt

Theus is gone, and Kenny Natt will coach the team tonight against Minnesota. Like half the coaches in the league, Natt played for the Kings in the '80s ... but his NBA career ended before the move from Kansas City to Sacramento.

Natt spent nine years as an assistant under Jerry Sloan in Utah and three years as Mike Brown's top assistant in Cleveland. His brother is former All-Star Calvin Natt.

Best defense

Natt’s stance in that photo is better than any King has offered all year.

New leader needs help

I think this is where Pooky’s observations about Whisenant come true. It a 2 for 1 trade, Theus & Persons out leaves 2 chairs open, Natt moves to Head chair & Whisenant moves into assistant coach chair. They couldn’t force Theus to bring him in so, they got someone they could force to take him.

Better question

Why did his “contract not be renewed” again?

I expect

Our team to be very pesky under this coach, buzzing around our opponents and completely annoying them.

Shut up and Coach

I think the real question has to be

with a Sloan disciple on your bench, how can the team not be able to:

A. run a decent pick and roll

and

B. play any D.?

Also really makes me wonder why Chuck Person aka The Rifleman(for his offensive ability) was the D coach.

Answer in the Bee Article

Here:

Person’s firing appears to be tied to his culpability as the team’s defensive coordinator as well as his close relationship with Theus. Natt was the lead assistant, but Person had taken on much of the lead assistant role midway through last season and had a much greater influence on Theus.
