I just saw on ESPN

That Dallas (Rick C) wants Brad Miller.

Interesting. I haven’t even looked, do they have anything we would want? I hear (they said) thats the catch

Really?

I’m gonna start working the trade machine right NOW!

Probably something that can get Brandon Bass would work. The Mavs are going for it now, there’s no point in them building for the future so it may actually work.

by eduardo_m7 on Dec 30, 2008 7:04 PM PST up reply actions

Kidd's expiring contract?

Seriously, that’s about all I’d want from them, assuming Kirk is untouchable.

They want a piece that puts them back in contention This year

which they tink they’re not (I agree)

So any front line players would be out.

yeah obviously

I was agreeing with your original ‘catch’. They really don’t have anything we’d want. We’d have to take back Stackhouse and Wright, and that’s not attractive.

True

I’m trying to work something out but it doesn’t work. It would have to include at least another team and I’m too lazy to do that right now.

when your guard has the ball against a 7ft tall guy, and the rest of your team runs to the other side of the floor and stands around, you’re not going to end up with much else. They cleared that side of the floor to let Bobby take Davis 1 on1, hard to blame him for then doing so.

Ouch

I think Jerry misses the point

its a lot easier to space the floor with a B52/Speed/Garcia/JT/BobbyB lineup than our current starters, this lineup actually has shooters to space the floor with.

Who doesn't?

but if you look at Speed/Garcia/Hawes/JT/Donte as our core with a splash of Salmons/Beno, that’s a pretty decent shooting team once they grow up a little. Unless Donte really grows up, a truly dynamic 3, point or post up player all would be welcome.

We finally won a close game

instead of blowing it. I for one, will take it. Jt got a double double, I’ll take it. BB came in and fired off 7in 7. I’ll take it. B-52 fed the still wonky speedy very well. I’ll take it. Brad fouled people HARD like he has’nt since webber and vlade were there. Fuck, yeah, I’ll take it.

If this revives Brad, then tonight was a good thing

Because a revived Brad Miller may be the only way the Kings can trade him. If he plays like this consistently over the next month, then the time is definitely now for Petrie to trade B52.

He benefits from Martin being back

Imagine a team like Miami watching these games and thinking how good he looks next to Martin and then thinking how much better he would look next to D-Wade. Speed being back helps everyone.

Talking about him, I liked what he said in his postgame interview with the crew. Something along the lines of the team showing they can win without shooting the ball well. Ugly win, but one nonetheless. Whether it was the horrible Clippers team or some decent D, the Kings were able to take a close game and find a way to get an ugly win. It has to count for something, even if it is for little bit of confidence for the players before going on a roadtrip.

Also, not sure if anyone noticed but in that last timeout Martin was the one encouraging his teammates and yelling: ‘one stop, one stop.’ It’s good to have the guy back.

If anything

Speed’s being out proved how valuable he really was to the Kings. It’s interesting to me why Artest’s absence didn’t do that for the Kings in the same way.

Looked to me that Speed almost blew the game

He kept jacking up all kinds of junk at the end. Poor shot selection and absolutely no team play (worse than Salmons). Sorry but I calls em as I sees em.

20 pts. on 14 shots

Find a guy that was more effective for the Kings last night.

Martin had a bad game and was still their best player.

Bows down to a master

It is great to have you back, I say again.

KF's point is still valid

Martin was 0 for 5 in the fourth quarter and had the travel call at the end. But in the grand scheme oif things, it was good to see KMart trying to take over a game, even though he didn’t succeed this time around.

Thanks Cool Cat but

is teamwork too much to ask for? I guess we may need some organization and possibly a new coach before the Kings show teamwork in crunch time.

There is a difference

between teamwork and organization. For example, teamwork without organization is how the ball winds up in Quincy Douby’s hands with the game on the line on multiple occasions.

I will agree that this team has not moved the ball with the game on the line since Rick Adelman was the coach. Until that changes, I’ll take the ball in Martin’s hands as my next choice.
