Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. – Semisonic

Star-divide

Hi Brad, thanks for coming in today, make yourself comfortable.

I brought you in to tell you, your role on this team is changing and to let you know what to expect.  As I’m sure you’re aware, we’re pretty excited about Spencer and his future on this team.  You’ve done a good job for us, but Spencer is our future and he has earned a bigger role on this team.  What’s important for you is, you have more basketball left than we have opportunity for you here and so we’re exploring trade options.  We need to give Spencer room to grow, and that means building around him and giving him time at Center and structuring the offense and defense to his strengths, not yours.  At the same time, you’re a productive player in this league that should be starting for someone, we’ll do our best to find a good situation for you in a deal that makes sense for us.

We’re going to miss the signature passes and the drained jumpers.  You carried the torch passed to you from Vlade. Frankly when you go, its not going to look like Kings’ basketball for a while, which is a credit to you.

We’ll miss the guy that combined with Bobby Jackson provided grit for our finesse in our heyday.

We’re going to miss the guy that irritated opponents enough Shaq tried to kill you with an overhand punch during an NBA game.

You have done a good job of providing continuity to our team and we want you to keep doing so as long as you are here.  Thank you for your contribution to this organization.

Its time for a new era.  Spencer deserves it, he needs to be the #2 option and likely the #1 decision maker on offense.  That's going to take growth and some pain, we might as well get on with it.  The ability and the brains seem to be there, Spencer seems like he'll make good decisions, its time to let him make some.

Well said

I particularly agree with the idea that he has enough talent that he deserves to be starting, just not in Sacramento anymore.

I was reluctant to jump on the “Trade Miller” bandwagon, but Spencer’s earned the shot.

Very nice!

We’ll have to get a backup C in return however. Hawes will be our only pure Center if Brad goes and I’d hate to see him at the age of 20 playing 35-40 minutes. Around 30-33 would be fine.

Hence the difficulty of moving Brad Baby before Spencer's ready

You don't have to trade Miller

To start Hawes.

I’ve never seen anything Miller has said to indicate that he would have a problem with coming off the bench.

He’ll still have significant minutes, considering the other bigs we have.

But all this is a little premature, in my opinion. Hawes is showing flashes of how good he will be, but I don’t think he gets the nod just yet.

Let's go home.-Kevin Martin

JT is in the same boat

This team is mediocre, and has had terrible luck.
