I understand those who are upset about this deal. Mike was truly one of the best players this franchise ever had. On the other hand, I think a deal like this is long overdue. We knew ever since last year that it was time to blow this ship up and even though this team has played well as of late it was time. Sheldon Williams is a nice piece to go along with K-Mart, Francisco and Spencer Hawes. This team is still stuck with Kenny Thomas and Shareef's bad contracts so I think this rebuilding stage is gonna last a long time. I think that it's realistic to say that K-Mart will be playing on bad teams until the end of his extension. Hopefully by then the team will be at the end of the rebuilding stage. In order to rebuild you first have to tear down and that means Artest and Miller have to go too. Otherwise, the process will be delayed even longer and this team will continue to be mediocre.
