Sonic fans bring me clarity

I have purposely avoided all things Kings since the loss to the Heat.  The lack of effort killed me.  Learning that much of it was due to partying too much the night before made it even worse.  I didnt watch the Kings-Hawks game by choice.  That is the first game I have missed all year that I was available to watch.  I did not follow online either.  I just read the game thread this morning, snd I am glad I did not watch.

Star-divide

I hated last years team more than any team in the last 15 years, becuase they never looked like they cared.  I loved the team early this year mostly becuase of its balls-to-the-wall effort.  And thats the thing, I care.  I dont get paid to play, I pay $179 to watch on league pass.

Bill Simmons currently has a mailbag dedicated to Sonic fans, allowing them to vent their frustration with the new owners.  While the idea of their team abandoming them is depressing, the passion in their words ended up being very uplifting.  I read the entire article, which took me well over an hour, because it is over 15,000 words long.  I highly recommend the read, but dont print it (paper comes from trees!).

Any way, I am not sure if this diary even has a point, but I had some feelings I wanted to get out, and I already feel bad for my wife having to listen to my never ending Kings rants.

This off season, I look forward to not even trying to re-sign Artest, and building for the future.  I sure wish we had gotten an extra draft pick or something for him at the deadline, because some young, excited kids playing their hearts out will be refreshing.  I dont think Ron doesnt play hard, quite the contrary actually.  I do however think that his blackhole-idness (my diary, my words) brings everyone else down.  Even coolcat now wants to start this kids instead of Artest.  Good thing he didnt get traded.

Sorry to be such a downer, I just love this team, and think if we as fans deserve anything, its effort.

Some how, a drunken Nash-Dirk combo makes me feel better.

Wow Man thanks for the posting
I'm glad Simmons is saying something. At least he thinks it's a wortwhile cause.

And I've seen more pointless diaries than yours. Click the link. That is the single stupidest thing I've seen on this site period.

Nothing and I mean nothing
could ever top that moment of stupidity. As far as Kings related content goes.

After having read the whole thing
I'm almost in tears, and I'm not even a Sonics fan. (This is also not because I live in Seattle.) I'm just angry that David Stern is such a heartless piece of shit prick.

Let me also just say that
I'm glad Simmons got involved because his voice can bring some reasonable light to exactly how pathetic this whole situation is (not than anyone here doesn't feel sympathetic to the Sonics fans). I shouldn't be this bitter about the Supes "potentially" leaving, but I am.

Well I think maybe Simmons alluded to this.
This same exact thing could be happening to Sacramento once the Maloofs can find some place to move.  As sad as it is to think about; this could definitely become a reality.  That's why I think us Sacromentans have an invested interest in this, we must keep the Sonics in Seattle.  If the NBA team carousel continues as is you better believe we are the next team to swap chairs.

Definitely a possibility
and its scary.  What is happening in Seattle could easily set precident for other teams.  Sonic fans love their team, much like us Kings fan, but the team is still looking to leave.

If you read Simmons follow up ailbag with even more letters, one of the is from a Kings fan, and he talks about that very thing.  Lets just hope we can find a way to keep the Kings in town.  I do believe they deserve a new stadium though.

Wait....Why is everybody clapping? Everyone around me is clapping.... I guess I should be clapping too... GO LAKERS!!! I hate living in So Cal

As a multiple time buyer of League Pass (including when I lived in Sac) I agree wholeheartedly with that statement.

I haven't read Simmons' piece yet, but I will
I think it will be a crime if the Sonics leave Seattle. It would make no sense to leave Seattle for San Diego. Leaving for Oklahoma City is just absurd.  There is no way that that move is a smart business decision for the NBA.
