Wednesday Footnotes
- The worst thing about the ridiculous Shaquille O'Neal to Phoenix maelstrom? It is now more difficult to make fun of people for their outlandish trade ideas.
- Even though Super Tuesday's done, your civic duty is not. Vote for Madelynn, and all your wildest dreams will come true.
- So you know, Sam Amick says he didn't press Ron Artest to squawk about moving on; Ron brought it up in the context of a completely different conversation.
- Also, Amick recently broke down the records of eventual #8 seeds.
- Spencer Hawes endorses Mitt Romney. Hey Spence? You might be a few days late on that one.
- From the same link: Brad Miller will be a game-time decision. Could Hawes get the first start of his career, or will Reggie Theus go small?
- Disclaimer: I don't follow American Idol. At all. But this article says this guy will perform at a Kings game this season. Walking punchlines are probably more entertaining than random area drill teams, with no offense to the awesome baton-twirlers and yard-stompers of the greater Sacramento area.
- Eric Pincus of HOOPSWORLD has sources who call Denver and New York "very interested" in Artest. Meanwhile, David Lee is still getting fewer minutes than both Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry while the Knicks have lost six straight and are 20 games under .500.

Will help you out.
I hope Hawes starts
About the 8th seed...
So far...
To Denver: Ron Artest, Kenny Thomas
From Denver: Nene, Najera
We essentially switch bad contracts and hope that Nene eventually becomes productive, which theoretically he should be. The problems arise in the fact that Nene's contract is two years longer than K9's so it is definitely a gamble, however, it shouldn't be hard for Nene to supplant the Lobster.
Next trade...
To New York: Ron Artest, Kenny Thomas, Mike Bibby
From New York: Stephon Marbury, David Lee, Fred Collins
We essentially take on Stephon Marbury's craziness in exchange for the services of David Lee who would become an immediate starter at the four. Marbury is going under the knife today so that would mean we would be giving the Knicks more immediate talent Artest + Bibby, in exchange for taking NY's head-case. As far as when the numbers come off the books, Collins is at the end of this year and Marbury and Lee are at the end of next year.
Their had been rumblings at one point that Isiah was looking at Bibby as well, but who can really be sure. I would rather deal with NY as the trades don't effect the future nearly as much, with every player we take back having a max of two years left. Although, I could definitely see Petrie pulling the trigger with Denver to move K9 and get Nene, who he may or may not like, back.
I would rather keep K9
My son has a pair of Starburys
Amen to neither exchanging one headcase for another, nor one bad contract for a worse one.
I think that if Petrie (had lost his mind completely and) traded for Shaq, we as fans should have boycotted the games until Shaq stood at center court in a dress and tiara and proclaimed himself a Sacramento Queen.
I also think that since the Suns made that trade, maybe we could trade K9 for Nash straight up.
Coolcat's off the hook. Now we have an actual instance of glue-sniffing induced trading.

Guess we'll see
Mike D'Antoni"s New Offense - 4 on 5.
Seriously, this looks like Steve Kerr flexing his GM muscles and showing D'Antoni who is in charge.
Something we need more of, Ron Artest trade tumors
Who knows?
I think this might refer to previous efforts, when Ron was with Indiana. Salaries wouldn't hold GSW back now, considering their big trade exception... unless Cohan's unwilling to pay the tax, which is a rumor going around w/r/t Gasol.
Miller is out tonight...

Nice
I'll write a diary & watch the pre game
possible deals
Hey if the Rise Guys indeed read this (or someone from their staff), do Sacramento a favor and fire FP, he is an anchor on what can be a decent show.
I say no to trading for any guys with "character issues" no matter who talented, name me a championship team with bad guys who won
Petrie I think has it right, in that if you act in haste you repent at leisure
Stephen Jackson?
I know there's more, but that was a pretty obvious one to me.
Oh!
I'll take the above challenge...Dirty winners.
Kobe Bryant, Lakers(C'mon...)
Shaquille O'Neal, Lakers/Heat(Ask Vlade's teeth. or Deke's face)
Rasheed Wallace, Pistons (King 'T' hisself)
Dennis Rodman, Bulls/Pistons(Too much to be listed here)
Bill Laimbeer(Remember him biting THROUGH another players hand to the bone?)
Etc. Etc. Etc.
In regards to Shaq
But, then, the hand is part of the ball...

I forgot a big one...
Nope.
I caught a good link
I know hands down Kobe Bryant. I've had the opportunity to work with him. He's a relentless worker. I've never seen a guy like him that will work as hard and as long as him. I would put LeBron in that category too. He's a tireless worker. Tim Duncan, historically, stays in great shape. He starts his workouts in early August. Most of the Spurs stay in town and they work out with him. He kind of controls the workouts in the summer time. Those are three guys that would be on the top of my list.
