I held out hope Kevin Martin or Francisco Garcia would get added to the Three-Point Shootout, but nope. Rip Hamilton, Peja Stojakovic, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kapono, Steve Nash and... Daniel Gibson.

Peja's back into the three point shootout, huh? He would have won the last one if he hadn't choked it away at the end. It'll be an interesting shooutout between Peja and Kapono. It's fun to watch Peja in the three point contest, because I remember hearing how he'd drop 65 threes in a row at practice. There's always a slim chance Peja could make all or nearly all 25 shots.

After he lost that year that he was going to not compete in it any more, to give the young guys a chance?

Of course, he also said (about a week before being traded) that he wanted to finish his career in Sacramento.

Not that I mind, I'm a Peja fan (which partially explains my bias against Artest, but not completely) and I'll love seeing him hoist that trophy again.

he's no joke from beyond the arc. 2.3 makes a game and at 46%! Not many besides Peja in that territory. Kapono's got a better percentage, but Gibson's made like twice as many total.

It always kind of has been. I say good riddance to the entire thing.

Then who would have heard of Gerald Green? Would we be alighted to the beauty of Josh Smith, the nasty of JR, would we have known of Vinsanity in Canada? Would Nate Robinson matter?

If we gotta deal with a whole weekend of crap to keep the dunk contest, I say might as well.
