i am the ONE who voted for napear

if anyone else has league pass they will tell you that he isn't even close to being one of the worst play by play guys in the league.

But I will agree, there are some freaking atrocious basketball announcers in the league (cough, hack... ka, the knicks).

But he doesn't necessarily amaze either. Well, at least from the 5 games I've heard announced by him.

Trademark of Tommy Heinsohn

Tommy is the Celtics color announcer. He's known for giving a "tommy" point if you hustle and do something for the C's. Like if you dive for a loose ball or something like that.

As one of the few away Kings fans from the EC I've heard Napes many times, because I am from the EC. So there are 2 Peaches here. The annoying brutal trite Peaches who spends his time on SportsLine being an assclown. Then there is the professional redhead named Grant Napear whose brutal double personality hurts him in the real area of his 2 jobs. On what he's done for Kings fans (and the fact he was a terrific radio announcer---while I love G-Man, I wish he was still doing TV, he's far easier to take on the tube) as an announcer he's done well. He's a top 10 TV announcer in the NBA still.

So while I think he's a brutal asshole with a stupid agenda on his radio show, I think it doesn't matter for his Kings sphere. I still wouldn't put him up in the rafters though.

This is a tough one, because Grant is still fairly

young. I've never listened to his radio show and don't think that should be a factor anyway. He's been the TV voice of the Kings for a long time. If he moved on to something else right now, I'd say no. If he continues to announce the Kings for another 10 years or so, then I think that would change things. I'll vote yes, with the understanding that we wouldn't honor him unless he retired here.
