Chengdu Earthquake
I know this is way off topic for this forum but I just wanted to let everyone know that I am going tomorrow to Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China to help with the earthquake relief efforts and am looking for an existing blog that I can use for posting stories as well as pictures. It can't be a blogspot blog as that is blocked in China but anything else would be great. If anybody knows of anything or has ideas let me know.
Thanks.

Thanks for coming over.
I’m in Shanghai and that whole region could certainly use the help (although I haven’t done more than donate myself). It’s mess over there, from what we hear from our local contacts.
Anyway, try this: http://www.lostlaowai.com/china-blog-network
It’s a local blog for expats living in China. You’ll certainly be able to access it, but it will under Chinese censorship rules. A friend of mine uses it, and it should suit your needs nicely.

I don't have a blog,
but I do have an unused at&t homepage that’s clean and free, would that work?
Best wishes to you, TMH!

ahem...
since I don’t use it it’s free, I’m not sure what the fees might be if it exceeds a content limit.
But it could be a start anyway…or maybe TZ will let you upload here, I have no idea how much content you are planning to upload.
Either way, be safe and let us know best how to help out the community directly. I have a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth after 9-11 and Katrina with the Red Cross. I’ve read that they over collected for those disasters (hah!) and diverted the excess money to “other projects”. Hey! How about telling people that you’ve collected as much as you think you need for those heart breaking events instead of flogging them in the public view?

thanks guys
for the suggestions. KK, looks like we will be working with a company called Heart to Heart, and I have had a lot of requests similar to yours so one of my main missions will be to pinpoint a specific group that is reputable and people can give to. I’ll make sure to post it here.
Unpossible, I live in Suzhou and was actually talking with Ryan today, who I guess you are friends with too, and I will be using either lostlawai or one of his other blog sites, I’ll also post the link here once I have it set up.

Thank you very much
I think it’s great. It’s totally devastation. I have distant cousins and uncles and aunts in China and will be praying that no more lives be lost.
BOOK IT!

I'm with you kingme18
and I can’t wait until TMH’s has a chance to update us with his work and charitible group information. Be safe, TMH and the people you are working to help.

The Blog is running
at www.lostlaowai.com. I am posting daily and already have at least 3 to 4 posts up. I will have a great place to donate up tomorrow, and they will be able to tell you specifically what your money is being used to buy.
