Reminisce....
I was just sent the following link by a fellow Kings fan in an email titled, "What happened?....a trip down memory lane!"
The link sent in the email came from an article by The Sports Guy, AKA Bill Simmons, (Yes, I'm convinced his legal name is The Sports Guy!) The article details among other things, the Kings 2002 playoff run. Looking back on it, The Sports Guy offers a very interesting take on the Kings and where we were in that given period of time.
The article was published just prior to the start of the 2002 Finals and contains a "fresh" take on the events that had just taken place, namely the Kings/Lakers series and how Simmons felt the series would be viewed in the years to come.
Check it out for a good, quick read!

Also proves the point on how much he changed in subsequent years too (Bibby)
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on
great read, great memories
i always wondered if somehow, michael jordan signed with the kings as the sixth man in 01’-02’, how different would that season have gone? instead of wasting his remaining talent on a terrible wizards team, he would join a contender almost cementing these 3 things:
1. the kobe-MJ subplot of the west finals, which would be more than enticing. not to mention the phil jackson fiasco that would result
2. the single greatest playoff series in nba history
3. the kings win an nba championship – while michael jordan wins his 7th and possibly 8th ring, murdering any other players chance at being considered for greatest of all time.

Only in the last hour and a half,
since SA beat NO. I just switched from being heart-broken for NO to deciding that SA is a tougher opponent for LA.
Which reminds me, how much time and energy do we waste hoping for players to be something other than what they are instead of appreciating them for what they truly are…
Waiting for Peja to be anything more than what Peja is (and that’s pretty freakin’ good), waiting for Tiiimee to be less than clutch (what’s his normal FT%?), waiting for Ron-Ron to be a team player (instead of the awesome one-on-one guy that he is), waiting for Horry to miss a big shot (#$%^@!).
So, go Horry, Go Spurs. Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA!
God bless you, Corliss. You always played as though you knew how expensive my tickets were. -section214

If there was any way
For both of those teams to lose, THAT is what I’d be hoping for..
I hate ‘em both. I won’t watch the conference finals.
Actually, the only team left I might in some small way be ok with winning it all is Boston, and that’s only because I think KG deserves a ring. I just wish Ray-Ray wouldn’t get one as well (he’s also on my Most-Hated-Player list, wtih Kobe, Horry, Najera, and whoever the idiot was that was doing push-ups under the basket).

Unfortunately,
KG is on MY list of most hated players due to his stupid “artillery” comments, crotch grab, and attempted pantsing in the playoffs a few years ago against the Kings.
KG can suck lemons for all I care. But that’s part of what makes being a fan interesting. Different strokes and all that…

Thanks for sharing
It just ruined my day at work, but I probably wasn’t going to accomplish much today anyway.
Seriously though, it is fascinating to look back at how highly the Kings were once held. It reminds me why I wanted a Bibby jersey so badly back then (didn’t really have much a job at that time, no money = no jersey). I really can’t stand to read about the officiating, though. It still makes me incredibly upset, in a way that girlfriends often struggle to understand (remember, I’m in Colorado, where most people forget Sacramento even has an NBA franchise).
