Donaghy says players fixed games

I dive into dangerous territory when I ask (supposing Donaghy is telling the truth)  could the kings themselves have taken part in fixing western conference finals against the Lakers a few years back (or any other games)?

Doug Christie?

Peja?

Webber!?

I'm not saying they did just wondering if you guys think it may be plausible.

(FWIW I think Donaghy is a sack of runny shit and is probably spewing that shit to try to stay out of prison)

no way

i highly doubt that. The players in the league have enough money. When you get that deep into the playoffs the only thing on their mind is winning it all. They have far too much pride.

I agree it’s highly unlikely but to say the players have enough money makes sense to you and I but they almost always think they deserve more (see Spreewell, Latrell).

Also I have to question the motivation of players sometimes, even in the playoffs.

It seems very unlikely that this would occur during playoff matchups but I can’t say unequivically that they haven’t altered regular season games.

IS IT THIS FROM ESPN?

“Tim Donaghy told investigators in the NBA betting probe that relationships among officials, coaches and players “affected the outcome of games,” his attorney said. The league said the charges were unfounded” http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3404607
I guess i see how that can mean refs bribed players but it could also mean that refs give more calls to guys they like.
Or did he flat out say players fixed games at another time?

Mitch...

That would be the one… although I heard about it on ESPN Tele. I haven’t heard that he flat out said players fixed games but how can anyone say say that’s not what he meant by that quote?

Section- I find it eerie that boith our avators and our quotes haves common themes. I just wish I had the same ability to produce the classic comedy you are capable of.
