Playoffs Pick'em Contest Update
Quick update on the Sactown Royalty Playoffs Pick'em Contest (the winner gets either to join me in the cheap seats for a game next season, or a to-be-designed StR t-shirt): It's still wide open!
otis29, Carl, and thelettere sit in the top three, but it looks like any of six or so competitors could win the thing depending on future results. I'm in 14th of 30 myself, with Boston and the Lakers in my Finals, and the Celtics winning the championship. I think I'd prefer a Pistons-Lakers Finals, though, and a Pistons title. Lesser of four evils, you know?
UPDATE: And just like that, section214's in the lead!

That Celtics pick...
Every day that Celtics pick looks more and more like it’s going to bite me in the rear.
Holy cow
I totally forgot about that thing. My guess is that my lead here will be similar to my lead towards the end of the NCAA tourney – fools gold.
If I had to re-guess, I’d probably go Lakers-Celtics at this point with the Lakers winning the whole enchilada (BLECH).

Damn Suns
Originally I had the Spurs going to the WCF against the Lakers but used the rule of twos for the Spurs because they just don’t win in the playoffs in back-to-back years. That and I thought the Suns just had the right mix of playoff tested veterans to make a real push for the title. So I switched to the Suns going to the WCS against the Lakers. Oops! I knew one of the two would take out the Hornets. I chose….poorly. All my other picks were right woo-hoo. Seems Steve Kerr thought as I did because they ridiculously fired D’Antoni for not living up to potential.
I was screwed the day the Suns lost game 1
And since then I haven’t bothered to look.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on
Yup
I, too, picked the wrong pony in that race. I knew whichever team took that series would go at least to the Conference Finals, but I went with the Suns. They had Game 1 in their hands, and when they lost I knew they likely wouldn’t make a comeback (I believe Simmons made the comment about them now having to beat the Spurs in five games instead of four, since they should have walked out with a win in Game 1).
