Gallinari

Then Speights. Though as I said yesterday, if it comes down to these two when it’s our turn to pick I would probably want Speights.

Surprised Anderson made the list...

I think he’s slated to go end of the first round/early second round. If we could grab him with one of our second round picks I’d be elated. I think someone else’s blog mentioned this, but if Anderson had been a European instead of a Cal student he’d be a lottery pick.

I also went with Gallinari, I really don’t think that one pick here will set us up for a run into the playoffs. I am of the feeling that as long as you are in the lottery you need to just take the best availible pick, whether its redundant or not.

Local trainer/coach/guru Brian McCormick made the comment about Anderson’s lineage. I like Anderson a lot, too; almost as a very poor man’s Dirk Nowitzki.

Yeah that's right.

Its all coming back to me, but I agree with his asessment. It may just be because we are all biased towards where we live (Northern California), but I am surprised how late he is supposed to go. As per the video you linked a couple weeks ago with Rod Benson and Anderson, he gets props for working out here in Sac.

It's Odd

A college kid like Anderson gets called a tweener and gets compared to guys like Troy Murphy, while a European kid with the same skill set would be compared to Dirk or Hedo. It makes you wonder how much more excited people would be over Roynaldo Hiberto or Darl Arthurkovic.

I heard Hiberto’s got good potential.

Brandon Rush

I went the “best player available” route. Rush is coveted by a lot of teams and could be part of a deal, and he’ll be a good replacement for Salmons when Salmons is dealt.

Just so I understand...

Why are we doing a 13th pick? Is this now an exercise to create the full draft board of the first round in case the Kings traded down or acquired additional picks?

"Rapport? You mean like, 'You run as fast as you can, and I'll throw it as far as I can'?"
-Jeff Kemp, 49ers quarterback, when asked about his rapport with wide receiver Jerry Rice

You have a train to catch?

My bet is that we are running into OT in part because there are still players of interest on the board and discussions to be had. If the Kings do pick Hibbert or Ajinca or someone like that at #12, I would be curious to see where he wound up on our board.

Right. Also, in case the Kings pick up a second pick in the teens, which could be likely.

We’ll go until Wednesday.
