All good promises must come to an end.
Draft Express is reporting that Westbrook's promise to be taken was actually a bunch of bull shit and in actuality, like we all knew, there is no promise in place. This lends itself to an interesting situation if both Love and Westbrook slide to the Bobcats because they are enamored with both prospects. In all likelihood it would allow Westbrook to slide to Indiana if they decided he was a better prospect than Augustin and thus have Augustin slide to us, just as I somehow predicted in my actual draft diary. However, this can only happen if both prospects do end up sliding to them at 9. I find it absolutely hilarious how these prospects continually use the "promise" defense when they get injured. Some of you may remember the media wondering if Arthur had a promise at #12 after he shutdown a bunch of workouts, but low and behold he actually was injured, which is exactly what happened to Westbrook. Do these players really think that there stock will fall so immensely if they do have a tweaked ankle?
Another possiblility would be Westbrook falling to us if Indiana trades with the Raptors, I know a lot of this is wishful thinking, but it does seem possible at this time.

True.
Although different prospects like Lopez and Bayless could be the sliders and thus influence the pick in one way or the other.
I really hope not
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on
Are you sure it's the players
starting those rumors or the reporters who see a canceled workout and go all nuts.
At this point there are 6-7 players that reasonably could slide to us that I’d be happy with, with the caveat that if Petrie picks him he’s probably ok. Westbrook, Augustine, Alexander, Randolph, Speights, Jordan and Arthur. I’d be happy if we traded down and got any of the next group of PF/Cs too.
Should be interesting, I’m excited.
