Ron Artest Will Be Involved On Draft Day
Thursday night, following the draft, Ron Artest will anchor the sports desk on News10. That's the 11 PM (PST) broadcast. Bryan May and Ryan Yamamoto will coach Ron prior to the broadcast, but he will fly solo during the sports segment.
This could provide the perfect end to a fun and exciting evening. It will be especially cool if Ron comments on the newbies.
UPDATE - Bryan May reported tonight that Artest's debut will be postponed due to a family emergency, so he will not be on News 10 after the draft.

I have to say
the guy is really growing on me. All his activity in Sac this offseason has been pretty cool. If only he could defer to Kmart and play an 82 game season I would love him. Unfortunately i don’t think either one of those things will ever happen.

I agree
on all accounts

if we trade him on draft day
-to our new pick “So do you think you are going to have a tough time filling my shoes in Sacramento?”
- “How are you going to defend me and Kobe?”

clever headline
although that might be considered dirty play to hit us with that so early in the morning.
"Clever, but douchey!"
That’s going to look great on my headstone.

By the way -
I am so close to repalcing “SACTOWN ROYALTY – Try our thick creamy shakes!” with “Clever, but douchey.”

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on
Jeez
I thought that was a rumor that would land us TJ Ford.
BOOK IT!
No kidding
I was excited that Chad Ford, Amick, or somebody had come out with some kind of trade speculation involving Tru Warier.

Paying Attention?
I don’t know why anyone would have thought that the headline implied Ron being involved in a Draft-Day Trade, because he’s literally untradeable until the date of his opt out has passed (July 1?).
When I saw the headline my first thought was that he’d be at the draft like Margie was at the Lottery Selection . . . being part of a trade never crossed my mind.
My thought process when I read the headline was
Oh Shit no! Ron’s going to help decide who to pick? What is this some ploy to entice him to sign an extension? Now I have to seriously consider whether or not I can continue to be a Kings fan knowing Ron-Ron will be part of the team for the next 5-6 years. Oh, why wasn’t I born in Portland? Why? Why? What, he’s just going to be on the radio? Oh, that’s cool. SECTION!!!

Seriously
Artest has the attention span of a four-year-old.
Let’s play basketball! No, wait. I wanna work at Circut City! Ooh, I know. Rap is cool. I’ll do that! Africa? Let’s go! Hey, you know what would be fun? TV broadcasting. I’m gonna try that now.
Maybe he could spend a little less time with a microphone in his hand and a little more time with a ball in his hand. Work on that outside shooting, the freethrows, maybe get someone to teach him how to pass out of a double team in the paint?

I think
he spends a little too much time with the ball in his hand already.
...a little more time with a ball in his hand.
If he didn’t play so much one on five, I might find his other antics engaging.
