Summer League Game 4, vs Golden State -- Open Thread

Apologies for slacking on previous open game threads. Didn't realize there'd be such a demand for biting summer league commentary.

May Jason Thompson "ice-grill" Anthony Randolph and Brandan Wright repeatedly.

Call me a bad fan but...

... at what time is the game? and is it on NBATV?

by eduardo_m7 on Jul 18, 2008 3:42 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

the game is on tape delay and will air at 9:30 on NBATV. So the highlight video will probably be up sometime tomorrow morning for everyone who missed it!

I didn't know it was tape delayed

But I knew it was on NBATV at 930

His first of the summer

His numbers look dismal. I think he may not be signed.

I think he may still be signed

I think what GP saw on him were not his boxscore numbers but mostly his D and hustle. I still haven’t seen that much of it, but I just want to make the point that I don’t think he was drafted for his numbers…

Agreed

If he shows enough the Kings will pay him $400k+ to sit in the 12th chair, as opposed to shelling out a million for a vet.

Why pay a million for an old guy who may have nothing left

As opposed to taking a 450K risk on a young guy who may not pan out?

This is very helpful in the long run. This will stick with some of these guys when these types of situations come up in real games down the road. (Having competitive games with late game situations being applied is good for everybody. Helps more teaching.)

But it’s only useful if if helps players understand how they need to improve, and what teams need them to do to contribute.
