Overlooked in all of the Jason Thompson projections is what our new power forward will have to do in order to crack the line up of the ALL-TIME SACRAMENTO-ERA KINGS FROM NEW JERSEY!

Now despite the catchy name, this really is not all that select of a club. To qualify, a player needs to have a) been born in New Jersey or have attended High School there, and b) played for the Kings in the Sacramento era (as verified by basketball reference.) Personally, I might have to expand the list so that we could include all Sac era players who might have gone to college in NJ (that means you, Quincy Douby!), but I think it is important to contextualize Jason’s future contributions in light of what his fellow Garden Staters have done for the Kings. Thus, without further, ado, here are YOUR ALL-TIME SACRAMENTO-ERA KINGS FROM NEW JERSEY!

Starting Guards

Mike Bibby

Bobby Hurley

Guards off the Bench

Terry Dehere

Rory Sparrow

Starting Center

So, what does this tell us? First off, Jason Thompson is a mortal lock to make the ALL-TIME SACRAMENTO-ERA KINGS FROM NEW JERSEY just because he’s from Jersey and will play for the Kings. If he get’s traded, then the front line will be a little then. Also, in order to unequivocally crack the starting five of the ALL-TIME SACRAMENTO-ERA KINGS FROM NEW JERSEY, Jason probably needs to put up around 7 and 5 for a career lasting more than one season. So, Jason already has tremendous upside, if only in comparison to his frontcourt mates from the ALL-TIME SACRAMENTO-ERA KINGS FROM NEW JERSEY!

So, don't get bummed out by Beno getting the full MLE or Ron-Ron turning another 100 degrees, things are really looking up...

for the ALL-TIME SACRAMENTO-ERA KINGS FROM NEW JERSEY!

Legion are those who deny or hide their ties to the Garden State. Given the serious nature of this post, however, I will assuredly take the time to reconsider the already stringent requirements of membership in the ATSEKFNJ as well as sort through all available Mike Bibby quotes to ascertain his loyalty to his place of birth. Perhaps I shall include a poll…
