They call him their "Favorite Clutch Player" from the summer leagues. Nice.

I saw that too. I was trying to figure out a way to put it into the Clutch City post, but I figured I’d wait it out.

I noticed it too

It’s just that these are observations. I found most of the observations to be useless. JT impressed me more than any player I saw, but I probably see everything through purple tinted glasses too.

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on

add that to the fact

that we will all dislike Jerryd Bayless for the foreseeable future.

Also I noticed...

JT jumped up a spot to 15 in the rookie power rankings.

That's Mr. Clutch of Summer League

to you!

More love from Samick and the Kings staff here:

All in all, the front office folks seemed very pleased with the overall play of the youngsters. As Petrie had said going in, there were “potentially six roster players” at the session. Aside from the thigh injury to Patrick Ewing Jr. that kept him out of two games and hobbling throughout, every player in that bunch drew mostly-positive reviews. And in the case of Jason Thompson, he showed much more than that.

Near the end of the fifth and final Kings game on Sunday night, my colleague Ailene Voisin asked longtime media man David Aldridge what he thought of the Kings’ first round draft pick. Like so many others during the week, Aldridge said he was very impressed.
* For those keeping track, I’m told Thompson was given the full 120 percent of his rookie scale deal by the Kings.

Nothing says love like more money than required to secure the player/employee! $10 says Artest gives Jason a wedgie for that next time he sees him.

The 6 roster players...
As Petrie had said going in, there were "potentially six roster players" at the session.

Hawes, Douby, Williams, Singletary, JT, Ewing Jr.

That makes 6 players. :)

Operative word:

Potentially.

And I screwed up the quote box in my first post, it should have read:

To clarify: I’m mostly happy with what Thompson, Hawes, Douby, Williams, Singletary, JT, Ewing Jr. showed in Summer League play…but I’m not over the moon on any of them. JT showed more than I expected, as did Singletary and Williams. Douby and Hawes showed progress, PE, Jr., not so much but I’ll accept the reports that he was injured from the first play of SL.

No, it’s not regulation play and we won’t know anything “real” until they get playing time there. But, I am fairly pleased with how well they did. Congrats to them and thanks for some entertaining play during the off-season. We’ll just have to wait and see how they all develop and how the coaches play them come November.

I’m a little tingly though for the first time in a couple of years, but that’s just me.

I'll only feel that way if Artest is gone along with K9

But otherwise I completely agree. This team has a tinge of excitement to it it did not have a year ago.
