Who pissed in Scoop's Cheerios?
Two straight blog posts that are fairly critical - first of Beno and then of JT. Scott Howard-Cooper is slowly moving into "nattering nabob of negativity" territory.
I think we all know Beno has a lot to prove (particulary on his resiliency over the course of a season), and JT is going to take his lumps against NBA talent. But come on - these guys are both young and talented. And to say that JT's defense and rebounding has to improve dramatically to take minutes from Mikki Moore implies that Mikki is a decent rebounder/defender. Which he really isn't for a seven-footer.

Otis Well put man!
I mean, wow, somebody pissed in Scoop’s cheerios. Mostly what I think it is that we fans have opinions of future talent without Scoop’s say. More and more older newspaper men are lashing out at “bloggers” because they feel blogging is hurting the newspaper industry. Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune does come to mind actually.
I don’t really agree with Scoop, but I think only time will tell. One point I find interesting is that he used “other” teams/coaches to say that JT isn’t really ready. Who are they to judge whether he is or not?

And -
how many rookies are “NBA ready?” Kevin Durant may have been the ROY last year, but at times he looked anything but ready. Al Horford was probably the only rook last year that looked NBA ready a majority of the time (and maybe “rookie” L.Scola). Jason Williams was probably the last Kings rookie that was “NBA ready,” and he took plenty of lumps.
If Cooper’s point is that summer league enthusiasm should be tempered, I’m mostly in agreement. But the bottom line is that Thompson looked like a much better pick after his summer league exploits than he did on draft night.

Playing out of position didn't help Durant either
Scola was 28. I hope he was ready for the League by that point.
But the bottom line is that Thompson looked like a much better pick after his summer league exploits than he did on draft night.Exactly, sir, Exactly.

Maybe Coop is actually out sick
And asked R. E. Graswich to sub for him.
He was always so negative we used to call him the Prince of Darkness.
Or maybe he’s just trying to balance Aileen’s mawkish prose with a more “down to earth” point of view.
Or maybe someone actually did piss in his Cheerios.

No kidding on Cooper!
I left him a negative comment on an article recently. I think it was ‘the last place’ one but there were a couple of others…
