Scouts rave about his speed. I love his hands. He mixes it up well around the rim and looks like he'll be an effective player out on the floor. The best rookie power forward of the summer.

Summer league
Let’s all buy Thompson jerseys! Then we can start a streetgang against GSW fans in their Marco Belinelli jerseys.

Yes, a JT jersey and some snapping ability are the only criteria for membership

I read that
And JT got bumped from 14th to 15th. As far as I’m concerned the less respect JT gets is the less chance his ego gets a chance to be built up before he’s earned it.

I want him flying high.
If he comes into camp and dominates, he should win the starting PF job and play along side Brad. I don’t buy the Hawes-Thompson bench combo, I’d rather see a Miller/Thompson and Hawes/Moore look. I also like Thompson’s athleticism and size next to Miller because I think he can give weak side/help D to a guy who is often over matched. And Hawes looks like a shot blocker which certainly could help out Moore.

2 sides to every argument
2 sides to every story. You know that, so do I. I don’t care if this guy breaks into a sweat and wets the bed every morning. No matter what, whether he starts low and ends up high, starts high goes low and returns, the end result will be just that. The end result is all about the waiting game, and little else. The roller coaster should be fun to ride regardless though.

Just so long as he keeps the wetting to the bed
I hate it when they have to stop the game because some rookie peed on the floor. Waiting for those guys with the mops to wipe it all up is annoying. And you just know that Dick Bavetta is going to slip in it and fracture his hip.

I agree
I think the shooting vs athleticism (may) work better in those combos as well.

You will come to learn
that JT does not have an ego problem, He is a very humble young man. He will work hard to get ready for the season and will fill what ever role the staff asks him to fill.
by Beagle12 on Jul 23, 2008 2:27 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Come to learn?
The guy can play humble on camera because that’s what we get to see. I don’t doubt he works hard. But he’s a NBA player, and those guys have ego’s larger than Michael Jordan’s entourage.
I think it is safe to assume, on average, we all would love to see JT morph into that Karl Malone superstar so we can give a resounding “Fuck you” to the universe who smited us in the first place on draft day.

Mine was based off
Who is that guy? Once I got to learn about who he was it was far less un-settling. (I would have been dismayed if it had been Roy Hibbert though.)

Actually what I said was
What the Fuck? Oh my lordy lord lord. Pretty much everyone had the “WTF” or “Who the fuck is this” type of reaction. Truthfully, considering we just had lost out on Bayless at the time, I was please it wasn’t Roy Hibbert. When someone asks me 10 years from now that’s what I’m going to say.

Reading thru the 2nd & 3rd thead of draft night
I did wonder why we didn’t trade down, but looking back, it’s probable that Petrie will always have felt that trading down wasn’t an option with Golden State looming at 14th overall and poised to take him.

yeah
That was my instant reaction… all I could think was “fine Petrie.. .you want him? take him, but for the love of god trade down the pick and take Hibbert too.”

I was the 1st person to go on record
and say that I liked the pick, but I’m sure that was just the Fat Tire talking.
And I will add that the jury is still out, since I didn’t say “I’ll be the 1st to go on record and say that I like this pick…for summer league.”
