David Thorpe's Rookie Watch
Thompson was ranked 17th on Thorpes projection of top rookies in a list that included Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez, and Marc Gasol .Also ahead of Thompson were Courtney Lee, Roy Hibbert, and Brandon Rush.
This analysis solidifies the thought that Thompson is a top 15 talent in this draft and Im glad to see guys like Arthur and Randolph didnt make the list. Augustine was also left out but that being said he still would have been the better pick for us. heres the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=thorpe_david&page=Rookies-080627

i like what bill simmons said
“The Kings take Jason Thompson 12th, which would have been fine if this were the second round. Stern sums the pick up best: “Jason is not here.” There’s a 75 percent chance that the Maloofs made that pick after downing three bottles of Patron shots at the their VIP table at Rain.”
theres no telling til we see him play and it will still probably take a few years of watching to be able to gauge the pick accurately.

Maloofs?
The only real decisions that the Maloofs made were Artest and getting rid of Adelman. Otherwise, Petries firmly in the driver’s seat especially in regards to the draft. Do you really think the Maloofs would spend time away from the Playboy bunny room to analyze a draft?

notice who said it,
and send your response to him. And i dont think his statement was about who runs the kings front office, rather its about the absurdity of the pick, and the maloofs exemplify the absurd better than Petrie does.

I'm only annoyed when mouthy Blazer fans state the obvious
Bill Simmons sucking off Kevin Pritchard is only belaboring the obvious.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. It's simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get tangled, you tango on

Frustrating
It is just frustrating to watch a time like the Blazers make all these moves on draft day and have become a decent team and will likely be pretty good if they stay together. Portland has done a good job in the past two drafts so far and the Kings have not done that well.

keep in mind...
A lot of people thought that the Clippers around the turn of the century would be pretty good too. A team is more than the sum of its parts.
