Salmons makes Hoopsworld's All Breakout Team (West)
Salmons is a slashing, attacking scorer, who statistically still had the best season of his career last year. With Artest now gone to Houston, Salmons and Martin could make up one of the most explosive scoring tandems in the NBA next season.

I like Johnny
And I’m hoping statistically he puts up solid numbers so the team can deal him down the road.
Why? I just don’t think he’s mentally tough – one of the great mysteries of this Kings team last year (IMO) was his starter/reserve statistical variance. The guy was in his own head coming off the bench – that’s got to manifest itself in crunch time when this team gets close to contention for the playoffs.

It also makes Cisco that much valuable being able to come off the bench or start though too
Which should make any extension agreements itneresting provided the Kings choose to go down that route.

I’m not sure Martin and Salmons can be one of the most explosive scoring tandems. Salmons is more of a steady scorer than one who’s going to pop off 30+.
Martin and Douby, though … yeah!
Seriously, Salmons should have a good season. 18/5/4/2 would make thrilled.

Buuuuuuut...
lets assume that without the Black Hole taking some of his shots that Kevin averages 26 ppg, which isn’t remotely unreasonable in my opinion. Add that to Salmons presumed 18 ppg and you ave 44 points per game from those two. That’s explosive enough for me.

Good point. The last time the Kings had that sort of combo would be … Webber and Peja, 2001: 47 points per night.

and my guess for Kevin was conservative
its highly possible that he could compete for the scoring title this year.

let's see how steady he can be when every team's reading his scouting report
I love me some Salmons, but dude doesn’t have many tricks in his book of scoring.

Salmons
He was pretty darn solid as a starter last year, and had a nice percentage from three. I can see him spotting up a little more this year if Kevin starts drawing double teams.

Agree
He needs to learn to move without the ball.

or
he needs to learn to pass it to Kevin when the defensive closes in on him. he’s a fairly effecient scorer and teams will be paying closer attention to him this year. Kevin’s already great at moving without the ball so if John can combine his iso-skills with some nice passing the two of them could wreak havoc

Salmons will light it up next year
He played well starting with K-Mart or Artest, but not off the bench. Salmons won’t have any problem starting with Martin and Garcia plays well on and off the bench. All 3 should have a great season.
