Wait...
This is an article about powerful people in Sacramento right? Was the second zero a typo?

Maybe it's all relative.
And maybe we’ll get JustaDude to go on a rant about how “his boy Douby” is more influential than Heather Fargo because of his unibrow.

No Ziller?
Oh, right…you don’t live in Sacramento. That’s the only reason that I can come up with for such an obvious oversight.

Geography has nothing to do with my snub
It is a lack of talent/success/looks/income/networking. But my doggies love me.

SacMag
Is that like Taco Bell winning best taco, Olive Garden winning best Italian food and Chilis winning best Chili in their restaurant ratings? The credibility is sort of lacking. One example – Heather Fargo is not on the list.

As much as people make fun...
of their excess of adverting, the Reader’s Choice Best Restaurants is the chief reason I’m glad Sacramento Magazine’s circulation never made it out to the Airport.
And Carl, correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought Old Spaghetti Factory was best Italian Restaurant this year. Olive Garden last year, and Pizza Hut’s Pasta Hut the presumptive favorite for 2009.

Sad...
but it says just as much, if not more, about the people of Sacramento.

The thing is...
Sacramento Magazine is targeted to and read by people in the suburbs, which are almost completely lacking in anything resembling culture or decent restaurants. I LIVE in a suburb, so I know of what I speak. My buddy John over at Uneasy Rhetoric put it best: “…the magazine’s key demographic isn’t really Sacramento’s multicultural pizza, it’s the chewy, tasteless, white crust that surrounds the City.”
If you polled suburbanites in 100 other cities, they’d say the same thing. That’s why there are hundreds of Olive Gardens and Macaroni Grills around the country and a dwindling number of family run Italian restaurants. The Sacramento News and Review’s restaurant ratings are much, much better.

Well said...
all around. And while we’re on the Cyber kick Sac-Eats over at the Sac Rag is a pretty solid food writer. And pretty prolific. And I’ve always enjoyed Allen Pierloni’s Counter Culture bits in Friday’s Ticket.

And the Sacramento area for those who have never lived there
Are almost entirely suburban in most part. More of the population in Sacramento County live in cities, or unincorporated county, of which is a rather substantial number, than they do in Sacramento proper, and given the way the city lines are drawn, this is an impressive feat.
I agree with Carl to a degree that if you’re aiming for a select group, aiming to get people in the ‘burbs to figure out Sac proper is a bit challenging since many don’t like going into the city itself.

I don't know
when the first guy I saw on the list was the Airport director, I stopped reading. I’m guessing number 100 is the parking attendant for the 3rd largest lot at the state fair.
